I think this is a fair assessment. I think the group as a whole is trending upward, which is good to see. Still want to see Kremer strike out more if he plans on throwing 95+.

That’s correct. We can’t enjoy this and know that we got him in a 4 for 1 swap for a reliever that had a half season where he was throwing out of his mind like he never had before. No, we’ve gotta bitch incessantly about how we could have gotten him for cheaper and maybe never had to trade for him in the first place. Remember, nothing’s ever good enough.

Still am. Two times through the rotation doesn’t fix everything. Kremer was good last night, still only struck out 4 batters in six innings. He did only walk two, which is really good but the lack of strikeouts is worrisome.

If Yennier Cano leads the league in WAR this year (he probably won't, but let's just have some fun here) I think they're going to have to have a referendum on the WAR equation. There's no way Cano could be as valuable as someone like Mike Trout.

Pirates are 1-9 over their last 10. Maybe we're catching them at the exactly right time. A week ago I thought this could be a really tough series, now I think they're quickly regressing to their mean and we can come in after a great series win against Tampa and take 2/3. Friday: Oviedo (5.59 ERA) vs. Bradish Saturday: Contreras (4.74 ERA) vs. Wells Sunday: Keller (2.72) vs. Gibson

God what in the actual **** is Mateo doing lately. He's completely unraveled from the approach that had him going so good to start the season. That was a terrible pitch to swing at. Awful.
