  1. I think you missed the part where I said, "Now I agree that I want to see him in the lineup every day,"
  2. I think we all hate seeing him on the bench, but it's pretty apparent as to what's going on. Stowers has a good amount of swing and miss in his game. He's already struck out 15 times, has walked 3 times in Baltimore. And before anyone goes MOOSE TEH SAMPLLLZ SIZZZE IS 222222 SMALL yes, I agree. It's entirely too small. But it's also not a giant departure from what he's done in the minors, he strikes out at a pretty good clip to compared how he walks. His defense, as pointed out by @Tony-OHisn't great. He doesn't really pass the "Is he smooth?" eye test and the advanced statcast stuff isn't kind to him, either. Now I agree that I want to see him in the lineup every day, I want to see more of his hitting approach and I want to see if he can get to his power at all. IMO, the playoff race is over, we need to see what we have in guys like Vavra and Stowers. But like I said, it's pretty apparent as to what's going on; it's obvious to me that if a guy doesn't do anything particularly well he's either not being strongly considered or they're going to make him ride the bench and work on things until he gets where he needs to be. I have no doubt in my mind that if Stowers was elite in the outfield he'd have been playing more. I also have no doubt in my mind that if he had an approach and a walk-rate like Rutschman, he'd be playing more even if his defense was still sub-par. It sucks, but I think that's what is happening here. We can banter back and forth about what's best for players and what we'd prefer to see but it's also apparent that they have their way of doing things. And again, I agree that it sucks because we're fans and we don't get to see what we want to see immediately, such as Stowers being in the lineup every day.
  3. If he walks, that's good enough. As long as he's not making outs, I don't care if he doesn't have any pop. I think we gotta get past the idea of having a backup catcher that can hit. If that catcher could hit, he'd probably have a starting job somewhere. If we have a good catcher who can block balls, call a good game and handle the staff and not be a complete liability with the bat, that's probably as good as it'll get.
  4. I think our chances are on life support. I mean, anything can happen but even when we were hot we still had a hard time gaining ground on the Jays and Rays. I really want to see the last few weeks here be more about playing the younger guys every day and getting to .500 on the season.
  5. I think we've got something in Bradish. He definitely needs some work, but the raw stuff looks good and I think he's one of the few guys we have, who if he develops, can have some swing and miss stuff.
  6. I agree with this partly, specifically the part about either you're in the playoffs or not. But it's been so long for this team, I still think it's important that they just win more than they lose and can say they had a winning season. The season has been successful but I'd like for them to see it through all the way.
  7. As far as I’m concerned, the playoff race is over. Even if we won the past couple series, the Rays and Blue Jays are winning at a better clip. At this point with the way we’ve been playing over the past week or so, I’m starting to wonder if our shot at a .500 season is in jeopardy. Even if we finish below that mark, the season still should be considered a success but I think it would still sting, it’d probably cost Hyde manager of the year. The rest of the schedule is pretty stout and I can easily see this happening. And if we don’t watch out, we can still finish below the Sox in our all too familiar position.
  8. Here we go. Sox get a 2nd run so we can get our only run in the 9th.
  9. Watching this game is like the soundtrack to a wake.
  10. Yeah, but it's nullified when you're trotting Hays and Aguilar out there. I mean if your OPS is pathetic I don't care if the pitcher out there is a righty or a lefty.
  11. C'mon Aguilar, just run into one and hit it out you useless nutsack.
  12. Dick Mountain, doing his thing. Unbelievavble. And by unbelievable, I mean totally believable.
  13. I'm not gonna hijack the game thread with my thoughts on the matter but long story short, yes, I agree.
  14. I think the most I'll ever come around on the Commanders name is some indifference. Right now I think it's pretty stupid which is a nice change from the outrage I was experiencing back after the announcement.
  15. My wife just said "It's like they're giving McKenna a reward for pitching last night."
  16. Yep, that's it. https://breakingt.com/collections/washington-football/products/theyll-always-be-the-football-team-to-me Just ordered this a few days ago.
