  1. Yeah, whatever. Just get good players.
  2. I don't think injuries are the reason Hays hacks at everything. Might just be me.

  4. I agree with all of it. I'm just stirring up ****. Because, like I said, if this keeps on going, people are going to start looking at the hitting coaches.
  5. Oh, stop it. He's getting outs, just giving up more hits and runs between outs, is all.
  6. At the end of the day he hasn't had any ML success outside the first half of this season. He's regressing, 99 mph sinkers and all. Like I said, I wouldn't mind if he came to ST as a non-roster invite. I'm not completely against the idea but it has to be on the right terms.
  7. I understand what you're saying about the human side of the sport. I wrote last year about how Jorge Lopez has been through a lot. And he has, he absolutely has. I don't think anyone here is doubting his character or the notion that he's a good person. But I think you're letting feelings and emotions get in the way here. It seems pretty obvious to all that he was on an extended hot-streak. Whatever it was couldn't last an entire season. If he's brought back, it should be an ST non-roster invite. Nothing should be guaranteed because he had a good half of a season here. The idea that he's some sort of Baltimore folk-hero is a bit over the top.
  8. It's been a somewhat oft-debated topic on here for years and I wanted to be ahead of the game in case we're going to start blaming the hitting coaches here soon. It seems logical that it'd be on the horizon. Yes, whenever the offense performs poorly for extended stretches, it's an OH tradition to make a thread about the hitting coach (in this case coaches) and ponder how much of this is their fault vs. the lack of talent they've been given to work with. So what are we thinking about our two-headed hitting coach attack of Ryan Fuller and Matt Borgschulte? How can their pupils be thwarted by a Detroit Tigers starter with a 5.00+ ERA? Are they to blame for the bats being in an extended cold-slump at a crucial point in the season when we need them to produce runs? Are they to blame for the regression of Mountcastle and Hays?
  9. The offense needs to explode but they're showing little to no-signs of life over the past two weeks.
  10. Just get to 81-82 wins and I'm happy.
  11. Hey, you know what, Drungo? For 8-12 year old Moose Milligan, 30 saves felt like a big deal. Can I just have this? Why do you gotta ruin everything? CAN I HAVE THIS
  12. I also feel that a 30 save year was something still relatively special back then. I also forgot it was the strike year, too. I liked watching Lee Smith take his sweet time walking in from the bullpen though, that was fun. I remember one time they cut to commercial and came back, he was just past second base, almost there.
  13. This is a good summary. I was shocked to read he got 5th place because I remembered him being pretty good but not THAT good.
  14. Agreed on both points. In regards to my previous statement, I still think they should be playing every day. Especially over Odor.
  15. I like Stowers and Vavra but I'm under no illusion that those are the two key pieces to getting us into the playoffs.
  16. I see where you’re coming from, but even though Aguilar homered earlier, it was still a no brained move. Henderson has been very good, Aguilar is lucky to be in the league. 21 years old or not, it doesn’t make much of a difference. It was the right move and it backfired. The odds of Aguilar having the game he had today were minuscule. But that’s one of the great things about baseball. Any given day, the worst guy on the roster can put the team on his back.
  17. I don’t attack your taste in music. It just blows, but it’s not like I’m mad about it.
  18. Gunnar is great but Adley has him on the plate discipline.
  19. I agree, it has to drive them nuts. To get 0-2 and then to lose a hitter is painful. He doesn’t give up on at bat. Anyone else in the lineup gets 0-2, it’s pretty much over. With Adley, it seems like it’s just getting started.
