  1. Pretty sure the success of that team was due to Steve Lombardozzi and Jimmy Paredes.
  2. These are fun numbers to kick around but we all know that baseball isn't constructed the way basketball or football is where you can dish to Michael Jordan for 30 shots a game or have Aaron Rodgers throw it 35+ times. It's a little different for Rutschman since he's a catcher and he's done, by all accounts, a fantastic job of handling the pitchers, framing pitches, etc. How much of the staff turnaround is due to him? Hard to say. But since he's arrived other guys have been playing well, too. It's definitely easier and more romantic to say that this is all due to Adley's presence, though.
  3. I think there's a shot he can catch Julio Rodriguez. There are going to be voters that won't care that Rutschman was called up later. But I think there are going to be voters that are intelligent enough to look at what Rutschman has done in the time that he's had and realize he's been more impactful than Rodriguez.
  4. Suck it, Trebek. Minus the dorky leg kick. I wonder if a 100 walk season is out of the question for him as it is. Probably due to the position and he'll be getting rest days, but I think he can get close.
  5. Well his FIP isn't far off from his ERA which is nice to see. The WHIP is a bit high, the K/9 rate could be a bit higher, but it's not terrible. He missed some bats last night. I agree with the above post, that homer to Vlad would have sent him reeling last year. Wiggled out of the bases loaded jam, too. I don't know if he would have done that last year, either.
  6. Here to eat crow for writing him off prior to this year. I don't think he's quite as good as he's been but he's made vast improvements from where he was a year ago. Great to see.
  7. Probably. I think you can bank on Chirinos for sure and one of the other two, at least. Gotta go for a sweep if we hang onto this one though.
  8. That sucked, but it's okay. Still got time for a Mountcastle dinger.
  9. Haha, love that Tapia is calling to the dugout for the challenge and they don't have one. Suck it, Jays!
  10. These are the two most coherent sentences you've typed since you've been here.
  11. Tilapia. lol, below a .300 OBP with a .275 batting average that's bad.
  12. I think they should at least have someone warming but Kremer still looks pretty sharp.
  13. Oh man, I just looked, they're losing to the Rays again tonite. This is AWESOME. I mean, Kevin Brown is right, we should be rooting for the Yankees in this scenario but seeing them collapse is so gratifying, I can't help it.
