  2. Count me in! Anyone but Richie Martin.
  3. Simmons would be a good get for a one or two year deal, but I don't see that happening. IIRC he's 31 or 32 and he's lost a step. Still would be a blast to watch at times but he doesn't make sense for this club as it's currently constructed.
  4. We might be able to get Galvis. The other three, no shot. Hechavarria isn't a big loss, either. Richie Martin is your Opening Day SS for 2021, folks. Not sure what all the hand wringing is about.
  5. How long have you watched the Orioles?
  6. I don't believe Bundy was for real last year.
  7. This is where you hope analytics take hold of a guy and help him shape his pitch selection.
  8. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all! And a Happy Kwanzaa to @Sports Guy!
  9. Corey Patterson is one of my favorite bad Orioles ever. And he wasn't even all that bad in 2006. Never would have guessed that he was here long enough to steal 100 bases though. And I always forget how good Brian Roberts was in his prime.
  10. I'd like the backup catcher of the future (haha) to be able to bring something to the table. Capable bat, good defense (which, btw, does not center around CS%. Someone that can block pitches in the dirt) pitch framing (shut up, I know), handling the pitchers well or something else. They need to be able to justify their existence in some shape or form.
  11. It's a slow day. But this made me laugh out loud. I'm sure I'll be uttering "**** you, Boddicker!" while driving around and doing last minute Christmas shopping today. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30573261/what-happens-14-year-old-superfan-writes-favorite-nba-wnba-stars-bubble I'm sure you guys have autograph stories, too. But I don't know if any of you guys dropped an F bomb on an Oriole.
  12. Cuban Ohtani, eh? Got here on a raft and is a year out from Tommy John? I'm sold.
  13. I knew it! Only someone with a puppy could be so optimistic about everything!
  14. Man, I'd love to be in wildcard's shoes for a day. Everything is bright and sunny. In reality, it's like 40 degrees outside but if you think it's 75 with no humidity and a nice breeze...well, it is! There are puppies everywhere. Beautiful women everywhere. World peace. Burgers, wings, ice cream, eat as much as you want with no stomach issues later. The Orioles are always on the verge of doing something great...just so great that in fact they might have their backup catcher of the future. Man, that's nice.
  15. I agree that he's fun. But a lot of whatever value he has is entrenched in being able to bunt for a hit. His numbers from 2020 look way better because he was able to tack on bunts for hits. That's not a recipe for long term success. He's a good 4th outfielder. I think his defense is fine and he brings some speed to the table on a club that lacks it. He'll be able to get at bats in 2021 when Hays inevitably goes down with an injury.
  16. I'm glad they're not interested. Moving on...
  17. I just don't care. Two wet farts. Either of which shouldn't be on the next winning team here.
  18. I've seen enough out of Stewart in the outfield. I get it, one gaffe...probably every MLB outfielder has had one. But since his initial one, he seems to turn every fly ball into an adventure.
  19. That's nice. I wonder if Driveline specializes in preventing nagging injuries, too.
  20. Hopefully none of them are that dumb. If there are any that are that dumb, I'm sure they're playing for the Red Sox.
  21. Let's get this thread on the right track, which is to beat the quickly dying horse...that SG wants this team to spend. Let's hear it, who should we be spending on? Stroman. Taijuan Walker. Some SS from the KBO.
  22. This is pretty dumb. I agree with Drungo. Nice gesture, but it doesn't make sense.
