I am just saying, nothing business wise says he will be the owner we want.  I was one of thousands of Marylanders that lost their jobs when his group took a Fortune 500 company from greatness to bankruptcy while he made millions and there was no regard for the Marylanders who's lives destroyed.

What place was this? I also worked at a company, a start up, that got bought by Carlyle, got chopped up, and then sold. I saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship before I got laid off.

    9/9, 109 today.  I’m on a roll!

Cost myself serious points by picking a safe answer for Toronto 200 game winner.  I had a much better answer that I wasn’t 100% sure of.

There are only 6 answers there. I could only think of two. That one and the Reds 200 game winner is where I got all of my points. 15.8 for the other seven.

Its nice to see an observer comment neutrally on Soto as a fit here without the "Angelos, never" automatic negative thought.

I think its an interesting thought exercise if the same trade package could get 1 year of Soto or 2 years of Cease which would better serve the championship odds of the 2024-2025 Orioles.      The 2025 Orioles MOO bats options may have a nice edge on 2024 with growth from Holliday-Mayo-Basallo.      The 2024 ZiPS still have 125-ish OPS+'s from Adley/Gunnar as the team leaders.

Same as last year one of the world's greatest talents will play their walk year for about ~1/30, no long term commitment.     Guaranteed eventual 1st rounder with QO decline, a perk that Dylan Cease is less certain of.

I’d imagine that SD would want a pitching heavy return for Soto.

I like that strategy, and would have loved to have used Hank Aaron today, but I’d already used him for Brewers/Braves.  Sheffield didn’t pop into my head.  Thats a good pull.

Ah, I misremembered. I used Griffey today for CWS and used Sheffield for Braves/Brewers. But used the same strategy and picked ole Nellie Cruz for the Brewers over 300 HR.

Me too.  I know Yount wasn’t a huge homer guy, but I figured that over a 20-year career he’d have 300.

When I see that category, I tend to go with someone I know has 400+ HRs and spent some time there but is known for playing for other teams. Sheffield for today. Griffey Jr the other day for CWS.

Wow ……..delay  much. I was never on Carr. Since you stoked the fire, what happened to the passing game in the second half last night. You will no doubt come up with some BS excuse.

The passing game suffered because Jackson didn’t approve of Flowers’ TD celebration. He has lost the locker room with his aloofness. If he only had the smarts of Jimmy G.
