  1. For now, is all we have. I'm not thinking how he'll be when he's 29 he won't be here. This year we'll have to deal with it and it will help us as well.
  2. Gunnar is very aggressive, it's often good and sometimes bad. We have to accept that part of his game I guess.
  3. He didn't when we played them. Guys get hot and cold in baseball. It's a thing.
  4. Try Firefox. I had that happen to me on Chrome/Edge before.
  5. Try canada and close your browser and reopen it after.
  6. I think Burnes will likely end up with a huge deal. I don't lump him with Snell and Montgomery and what happened with them in the off-season. I think some team will actually give Burnes 7 or 8 years north of 250M dollars.
  7. Elias made an interesting comment during an interview about how it's getting difficult to assess AAA hitting because so many MLB starters are coming up lame that AAA pitching is being moved up to the big leagues and guys in AAA throwing now, might not be the best they have due to MLB injuries.
  8. They play well at home, I think the last homestand they went 7-0. The "slappy singles-hitting team" is 1 HR shy of being tied for 3rd in MLB. They lost 106 games last year but I see a lot of the 2022 Orioles in this team, they will not be patsies for the league and they can certainly pitch.
  9. You aren't new here. If you want to act like people don't overreact at an amazingly high level then I don't know what to tell you.
  10. Sigbot is a nerd robot club at Purdue lol.
  11. You're right, once in a blue moon, it happens. Maybe we've found our new ace. Time will tell.
  12. I've looked at all of his stats throughout his 17-year career. I'm going to remain dubious that a 34-year-old with a track record hasn't just figured it out and will pitch lights out at the MLB level. We've seen this a thousand times, enjoy the start, the odds of it being sustainable are not 0 but they are not good in my opinion.
  13. The sky is falling here more than anywhere else when it comes to the Orioles. I'm not surprised either, but I'm not going to pretend that people here are more intelligent.
  14. It was a great story and rightfully, everyone should have been thrilled for him and he does indeed seem like an awesome human being. That said, if his two-pitch mix could play, he wouldn't have spent the brunt of his career pitching in Asia and would have logged more than 120 ML innings. I know we all want lightning in a bottle here, but enjoy what he did, history shows he won't sustain it over a season.
  15. I think he's going to be fine. I wonder how TEX fans feel about Leiter getting torched in his first big league start today? Rookies struggle, the good ones figure it out. I believe Holliday is a good one.
  16. Tanner Scott is back to normal this year. Relievers are fungible and Scott is again who we thought he was when he was here. I wouldn't call that a miss at all. Perez put up a great season for us, once. Once.
  17. I still think they can carry him while he learns if the team plays well. He has nothing to prove in AAA, he has shown he can hit AAA pitching, he needs to see ML pitching, it's a huge jump in talent and there is no higher level.
  18. That's not necessarily true as we see early on, even if we take your benchmark of 50 more PA's and he's not tearing the cover off of the ball I still think he adjusts and hits the over.
  19. I got a pretty decent chuckle out of Santander's rWAR. Gave me Tony Batista flashbacks.
  20. I picked the over with the caveat he stays up all season of course and plays regularly as he should.
  21. He earned another start for sure, but I'm not going to get overly excited about a 34-year-old with 120 ML innings pitched in a 17-year career. He was awesome today and fun to watch, though.
  22. I wish Means was throwing well, but I think we look back more fondly on him because he was the best pitcher we had on a terrible team. Even in his best seasons his FIP was mid 4's. He never really walked people and has a career 7.5K/9 and 1.7HR/9. He was our Ace on a terrible team, but he was never a top pitcher by the numbers.
  23. This thread should never be used until there is a final score, and the Yankees lose.
