  1. Mid-season? The Houston players are complaining mid-season they aren't playing well at home. I mean, if the Orioles pitchers in 2019 said we're giving up too many HRs, and during a 10-day road trip they moved the fence back, that would be an issue.
  2. Not during the season, but, yes, it is.
  3. Jorge hasn't even been a problem. He would have had two great outings in a row if they didn't try to squeeze a second inning out of him both times.
  4. I think that was the plan this year, to weed out who was going to be the future and then they lifted off with what they have and they've sprinkled in some of the young guys but the leash wasn't as long as it would have been. I'd dare to say they might have been better off with a middling record this season just so the kids could all take their lumps but the current team forced their hand by winning. A lot.
  5. Astros add green paint to batter's eye in center field after players complain about poor performance at home - CBSSports.com Just in time for tonight's game, too.
  6. Cowser had a chance to cement his place and he failed to do so, if Cowser hit even a little bit and had shown he could catch the ball, they likely wouldn't have gotten Hicks and he's been quite good for them. Ortiz is hurt, not sure how he's an upgrade over anyone. Westburg has basically taken over for Frazier getting most of the starts at 2B since he came up and while he's been fine defensively, he struggles with velocity and has a .685 OPS against power pitchers, He is even worse against Finesse pitchers and he's been really good against average pitchers. His biggest advantage has been the defense at 2B and he should get most of the starts there. Holliday is a pipe dream, he's got a .700 OPS at AAA, I don't think he will walk onto the field tomorrow, and be an instant upgrade over Frazier.
  7. Great article in The Athletic today.
  8. They have been absolutely dominated by LHP at home. They've just added more paint to the batter's eye to see if that helps them pick the ball up better against LHP at home.
  9. Is there one team in baseball, just one team that doesn't have a veteran who isn't a superstar? Moreso, a young team? Just one team?
  10. Runners on base. .301/.369/.560/.929.
  11. It was posted earlier in this thread Hyde pulled Gibson and McCann in and discussed it with them on how they should proceed. If they lost, they weren't celebrating.
  12. To paraphrase what someone during an interview said, they are young enough to not know what they can't do, The sky is the limit for these kids.
  13. It will absolutely have no bearing at all on what happens tonight, but you can bet your house the peanut gallery will be out in force if the O's lose tonight and say it was because they celebrated last night. Take it to the bank. This team is not mentally weak and the people who think that celebrating the playoff clinch is going to put them in a tailspin are projecting.
  14. Hopefully, no O's fan would be happy to see anyone not succeed in a big spot. While Westburg certainly has been more valuable, especially defensively, it's hard to argue who is going to give you a better at bat late in the game.
  15. What if they didn't win the division? Do they not deserve to celebrate making the playoffs? The Braves celebrated twice despite having 0 chance to not win the division. The players are far less fragile psychologically than 90% of the fans.
  16. Cash went for it tonight using Fairbanks for 2 innings, something Fairbanks hasn't done, according to the Rays team. I'm sure the 9 Rays fans are lamenting about him doing that.
  17. I really wish the MASN site was better at putting the videos up for fans out of the market who miss all of the interviews and post-game stuff a bit better.
  18. This is why he's on the team. Kjerstad is going to be great (probably) but he was way overmatched in his AB. Same with Westburg. Say what you want about Frazier but he's got ice water in his veins and he comes up big when it counts most of the time.
  19. You joined in 2022, how were you posting your thoughts on Cruz in 2014 and getting poo poo'ed on the Hangout?
  20. I was hoping since brucewayne and johnrambo got the boot, he would be clever enough to be johnwayne.
  21. Kidding aside, lots of people had many questions about whether he would be the right guy for this team when they started winning. I think we have our answer and you can see how proud of this team he is.
  22. Someone make a go fund me so we can get Frobby's wife the 81 game season plan in the best seats in the house. I'll throw in.
  23. Atlanta had two, don't we want to emulate the Braves?
  24. Should have been fired, imo.
