  1. Santander is gonna catch fire on this road trip. The seal has been broken.
  2. There will be lots of runs in this game, I'm afraid. Hopefully, we score more.
  3. Has some nice ones. The crown on the inside of his elbow looks like a jailhouse tattoo though.
  4. Makes no difference to me, any of the teams can get hot or cold and we don't know who that will be.
  5. I mean, if he looks as good as he did in the first 3 innings of his last start, I'd take that out of the pen. The dude was flat-out dominant.
  6. Someone posted a lineup with nothing but prospects saying that was our future lineup. That's not how baseball works. Show me one team since the advent of free agency that was successful with a 100% homegrown roster. You can't, yet you're going to argue semantics. I'm not saying we need huge FA guys, I'm just stating it's not realistic that the entire team is coming from the farm, it just doesn't work that way. I think we're on the same page, but might just be crossed up.
  7. I'm going to assume you aren't watching all 30 teams play on a nightly basis, so your criticisms are based on the guy you see every night. Head on over to the Rays Reddit. The fans think Cash is one of the worst in-game managers in the game. Perception doesn't make it true.
  8. I said no lineup is 100% homegrown on any team. You said ours is, right now. No. It's not. DFA's, Rule 5's etc, do not count as homegrown players. Drafted and developed, show me a starting lineup on any successful MLB team that is 100% homegrown. Just one. You can't. It doesn't happen. It's nice penciling in all these prospects but the reality is many will not be good MLB players.
  9. No top teams have totally homegrown lineups. It would sure be nice, but it's a pipe dream. Some/many will bust.
  10. The sample is obviously much smaller for Kjerstad but his K/BB rate is superior to Mountcastle's, I was speaking more to that than strictly walk rate and didn't convey that properly. Mountcastle had 4:1 K/BB and Kjerstad is closer to 2:1.
  11. Looks like we're likely to get Tampa in the ALDS if we win the division. Currently, they'd be playing Toronto in the WC series, but they have a ton of games left with each other so that is subject to change. Houston would currently get the winner of MIN or TEX.
  12. I don't think it's a horrible comp, but Kjerstad has a much more discerning eye at the plate than Mounty. He will strike out, but his walk rate is far better.
  13. Means' curveball hasn't been very good, not surprisingly, after such a long layoff. If he gets a feel for the off-speed it's going to make his fastball play up, and that's when he's at his best. Hopefully, he gets the feel for it. He didn't find it much in AAA, either.
