  1. The minute they traded Cease they should have punted on Robert Jr. and traded him as well.
  2. So it was suggested they trade their Ace that they signed this offseason only to sign another Ace next offseason? Yeah, if I'm a pitcher and just saw that happen to Gray I'm not touching a contract with the Cardinals.
  3. I'm at work so couldn't listen to who he thought it would take, I wouldn't do either for either of them, especially Luzardo his fastball is down 1.6 MPH from last year and has a sub 8 K/9, I'd give up next to nothing for him.
  4. He sure looks strong right now. It's not out of the realm of possibility that his surgeries were successful and he's going to be durable.
  5. I quoted someone, they just happened to use all caps. I'm not a big caps lock guy.
  6. Luzardo is off, I think he's hurt or something and I wouldn't touch him. I'd love Crochet, but he'd be a guy for 2025, I can't see any responsible team throwing him 180 innings after just 12 in two years.
  7. I don't believe that Elias is completely responsible, plenty of teams have tanked and just not hit on picks. I think they want to encourage teams to be competitive.
  8. They use machine learning and x, y, z axis to determine it I read.
  9. Burnes would bring an absolute haul for a contender.
  10. You should write a song about it. I'll buy it on Spotify.
  11. You don't see a conflict between the above quote and this one? " My point was and is OWNERSHIP/THE TOP OF ANY EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION MATTERS. Not the Dodgers payroll. "
  12. Irvin isn't going to out-pitch his peripherals all year, lets hope he's got a few more tightrope walks in him.
  13. If the payroll doesn't matter and baseball ops aren't the most important, why exactly is OWNERSHIP/THE TOP OF ANY EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION the most important thing?
  14. Luck is based on pitch location and results from what I've found. If a pitcher was neutral it shows a scale and not a clover. The shade of green changes from light to dark the better any category is or the luckier the pitcher was. I don't have a membership to the site but was cruising their FAQ on the models. I assume some of the foul balls (there were a ton) were pitches that were pretty fat and thus lucky, but I'm not paying 10 bucks a month to find out for sure lol.
  15. I'm sort of guessing but I was looking around the site and this is as close as I could come to an explanation of physics, possibly... It talks about release point and movement consistency. The Pitch Model plays an important role in determining the repeatability of a pitcher's outcomes based on how effective his pitches appear.
  16. If the O's get the Gil that has been running out there, I don't think the Yankees will have to cover too many innings and they will likely be protecting a lead and this guy won't be in the game. I hope Irvin has some magic in him today, this team is going to need it.
  17. I think it might have been a bases-loaded situation but I honestly can't remember. It felt like a 2012 game that lasted 5 hours and I can't remember what happened lol. In any event, the cumulative +TotFav for the Yankees continues to increase.
  18. This is a really hard question. I get the argument that we have Burnes for 1 season and I believe that if everyone had stayed healthy this team really was 2 good bullpen pieces from being a favorite in the WS. With the rotation basically coming down to Burnes and Rodriguez and the mixed bag of everyone else, and the pen issues on top of it, I'm not sure how smart it would be to panic and throw all the prospects away to try to fix it. Half of me thinks they should bring Mayo, Norby, and Kjerstad up and just let them play out the string so they get valuable experience and we have a better picture of who they are against MLB pitching and see where the chips fall with the rotation and the pen.
  19. Definitely wasn't fun to watch. I don't think Irvin is going to have much more success, though. He's been pretty lucky out-pitching his peripherals.
  20. They could always sell Burnes at the deadline, I suppose he would net them some nice pieces for the future.
