There was a reason a guy the Dodgers spent over $40 million on was available for a rental.
If that doesn’t illustrate how starkly different the two organizations are, I don’t know what does.
Org A spends $40mm on an international lottery ticket and trades him away for one month of a playoff run.
Org B major league rosters is $40mm.
So depressing to be an Orioles fan.

Looks like a solid turn out today for the day game.

Or line drive double play, whatever works.

How about a SB by hays right now?

Anyone else getting tired of visiting fans outnumbering the home fans?
Getting tired? When has it been different?

Lemme guess….the wall caused Judge to strike out this evening?

5k 0BB in 2ip in his season debut. Looked good. Here’s to hoping he can pull an Akin and be an asset in the bullpen.

When you throw 91 mph beach balls with no command you are going to have an ugly BABIP.

He can face LHP in AAA and in the majors. I would certainly not hold him back because of it.
Not saying they should. Just pointing out a current weak spot for him. AA pitchers don’t want to throw him strikes, so I’d like to see him challenged in AAA.

Understood, but it's not what he's doing as much as how he's doing it. He's got more walks than strikeouts 25% into the season. To his credit, he eliminated the amount of swing and miss. Does he still have weaknesses? I'm sure he does. Let's see the AAA pitchers see if they can find them and exploit them. Right now, Henderson is a 20 year old with the same ML approach that Rutschman has.
SSS suggest he has had struggles against LHP.

I'd not heard that. Guess we'll find out next week when we start egging the place.

Aren't the first 3 levels bullet proof glass or something for all the HRs that were expected to be launched off the warehouse during the Steroid era?

Most effective pitch in the game.

So on brand for this team.

Looked to me like he was trying to be too perfect and fell behind in the count early and often. Not gonna do well against Yankees going 1-0 and 2-0 to their batters. That slider is something else.

Gallo fears the mountain.

I guess it’s too late unwieldy to list the RISP numbers daily, so I’ll try weekly instead. The first “week” will be the ten days period that ended on April 17. All references are to the week ending _____.
4/17: 10 for 86 (.116); 21 runs in 9 games4/24: 11 for 58 (.190); 23 runs in 7 games
5/1: 15 for 52 (.288); 27 runs in 6 games
5/8: 10 for 43 (.233); 25 runs in 6 games
So far this week, 8 for 35. Last night was an ugly 1 for 12, leaving the bases loaded in each of the final three innings.
Those are some ugly numbers. I guess the good news is we really can’t do much worse.
-
That was not a professional AB. Wow. Bases loaded in last 3 innings.
-
Dang. Gotta know he’s coming back with heater after he catches you sitting off speed. Full count bases loaded gotta get a better swing on that.
-
Professional AB for Owings after Chirinos AB.

Say what you want but these guys make it fun to watch every night.

Never better time for the first one.
