  1. He threw 80 pitches and his arm didn’t fly off, his knee didn’t explode, didn’t even get a hangnail that we know of. For now, isn’t that the accomplishment. ?
  2. One outcome for the O's this year would almost certainly point to it, right? Regardless, I am enjoying the ride for now. Even the losses are entertaining at this point.
  3. I was wondering the same, for a lot of the moves we are seeing, but have they really had enough time to develop these scenarios utilizing the data they have? I honestly don't know, but maybe they (Elias, Sig and crew) came in way more prepared than any of us realized or maybe they are working 24/7 on refining the data to help with these decisions. Probably a combination of everything, but would be so cool if they found some secret formula...lol
  4. Wait, wait....didn’t you say something similar about people on this board and Machado not getting 300 million? Can you assure us we are idiots to think we will be in the World Series within a year or two? Thx.
  5. I saw that too, someone was hustling from 1st!
  6. Luis Severino was scratched from his scheduled Grapefruit League start Tuesday due to right shoulder discomfort. Per the Yankees' official Twitter account, Severino "will undergo further evaluation and examination" on Tuesday afternoon. This is obviously rather ominous news, but it's not worth speculating about the severity or a recovery timetable until more information is available. Severino had some issues with his shoulder in 2017, though that proved to be a big breakout year for the Yankees' young ace. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/20356/luis-severino
  7. Is this supposed to be an Oxymoron? ?
  8. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/19812/kevin-gausman Kevin Gausman is dealing with some shoulder discomfort in Braves camp. There is no set date for his first appearance in a Grapefruit League game. The issue is being downplayed for now, but obviously the clock is ticking with exactly four weeks to go until Opening Day. Gausman posted a strong 2.87 ERA over 10 starts for the Braves last season following a July 31 trade from the Orioles.
  9. That sucks. My favorite non Oriole pitcher to watch.
  10. The Toe back with the Rockies...sort of. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4649/mark-reynolds Rockies signed 1B Mark Reynolds to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Reynolds put up an .839 OPS with 30 home runs and 97 RBI over 148 games with Colorado in 2017 before predictably regressing last year as a part-time player with the Nationals. Free agent acquisition Daniel Murphy appears locked in as the Rockies' new primary first baseman, and Ian Desmond and Ryan McMahon also figure to get reps at the position, so Reynolds probably isn't going to have the opportunity to do nearly as much Coors Field mashing in his return there. The 35-year-old can be ignored in standard fantasy drafts this spring
  11. Corban Joseph had a deal in place with the O’s after being released? I don’t remember reading that. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6211/corban-joseph Athletics signed INF Corban Joseph to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Joseph reportedly re-signed with the Orioles earlier this offseason, but evidently that must have fallen through. The 30-year-old saw spot duty with the O's in 2018 but spent most of the year at Double-A, hitting .312/.381/.497 with 17 homers
  12. Travis Snider is still around: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4602/travis-snider Diamondbacks signed OF Travis Snider to a minor league contract. The former top prospect played for the independent Long Island Ducks in 2018, batting .290/.374/.463 with 13 home runs and 71 RBI over 94 games. Snider, 30, has not appeared in a major league game since the 2015 season.
  13. Brandon Snyder is still going, he is a National now, albeit milb contract. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4163/brandon-snyder Nationals signed INF/OF Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Snyder spent the majority of the 2018 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Rays, batting .253/.329/.465 with 18 home runs and 60 RBI in 106 games. The 32-year-old drew just six plate appearances at the major league level last year and zero in 2017. He will be minor league depth for the Nats in 2019.
  14. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6440/aderlin-rodriguez Padres signed INF Aderlin Rodriguez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Rodriguez, 27, batted .286/.335/.478 with 23 home runs at the Double-A level in the Orioles organization last season. He's never played in the majors and looks like a depth signing. Dec 23 - 8:34 AM
  15. That’s what they say. Dodgers at my NL team so kinda hoping they are.
  16. It's not banned, he just didn't have a TUE for the Adderall when he was suspended and did receive one for Vyvanse the year after his suspension. But I don't think anyone knows if he is still on either medication currently (or well this past year while he was playing). So, if it is a focus issue, he really doesn't have a gripe since he can be treated. But like you and others really think, I agree, he's just lost the ability to play at this level.
  17. Yea, pretty sure he has been on Vyvanse, at least for the first year after the suspension. Not sure it has been publicized since then (Hipaa).
  18. Tell us you didn't just pull that from memory, crazy if so. Was interesting to look up both. Scott had to be injury at 24 years old, but Dunn....wow, that is eerily similar for a bad year and similar age. Would be awesome if Davis produced anywhere near Dunn's 2012. Or his 2013 or 2014 for that matter.
  19. Parker Bridwell is a Yankee now. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/7068/parker-bridwell Yankees claimed RHP Parker Bridwell off waivers from the Angels. Bridwell was designated for assignment by the Angels last week. The 27-year-old missed a bunch of time this past season with an elbow issue, but he enjoyed some success at the major league level in 2017 and will provide the Yankees will some useful depth. Nov 26 - 3:16 PM
  20. Sounds like its related to Ritalin, so yea, that would be it.... http://clinchem.aaccjnls.org/content/56/4/585
  21. Ex-Oriole offspring....Jeff Conine's son suspended. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/10022/griffin-conine Blue Jays prospect outfielder Griffin Conine has been suspended 50 games for violating the minor-league drug prevention and treatment program. He was suspended for using Ritalinic acid, a stimulant. Conine, the son of former major leaguer Jeff Conine, was the second-round pick of the Blue Jays this year. The 21-year-old batted .243/.314/.430 with seven homers in 57 games during his first stint in pro ball in 2018, mostly with Low-A Vancouver. Now he's going to get a late start on his 2019 campaign.
  22. Since it was pretty much set for these two teams to make the postseason, I have been hoping for the A’s versus the Braves for the WS. And I would be pulling for the Braves, mostly because of Markakis.
  23. Yea, I read more closely and it said "mild" strain and with the only 10 day DL now, probably a good way to keep the innings down and your ace pitcher fresh. I honestly hope he is not hurt, O's season is lost and I like following performances such as his.
