  1. 2012. They won every game by one run!!! It was amazing!!! Yes, I know that’s not really true, but sure felt like every game I watched was a nail biter and that intensity was fantastic.
  2. Ohhhhhhh, yea. That makes sense. Didn’t think about league minimum. Whoops.
  3. Honestly I am confused about this as well. And of those with the monicker with something “Murph” in his name, usually you are the more eloquent and substantive poster. I can say this with complete confidence. ?. But really not sure what you are saying and curious. 560k seems irrelevant. But we are missing something?
  4. Orioles re-signed OF Mason Williams to a minor league contract. Williams saw some brief time at the major league level this past season, but he spent the majority of the year in Triple-A, where he batted .308/.371/.477 with 18 homers over 121 games. The 28-year-old figures to have a similar role in 2020. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/20071/mason-williams
  5. For a moment, I thought Santander had gone the way of Ryan Flaherty!!!! From Rotoworld: THe Orioles hired Anthony Sanders to serve as first base coach. Sanders has spent the last 14 years working with the Rockies as both a manager and coach at the minor league levels.
  6. Guess we are all pretty glad we didn't extend this one! Talk about maximizing value, what a steal for us. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/19571/wei-yin-chen Marlins designated LHP Wei-Yin Chen for assignment. Chen is due $22 million next season, a huge sum of money for a club like the Marlins, but they'll eat that cash after watching the veteran left-hander struggle to a 6.59 ERA over 68 1/3 innings of relief in 2019. Chen, 34, will surely clear waivers and then be officially released.
  7. Another Ex-Oriole going overseas. @Redskins Rick favorite! https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/18956/gerardo-parra Gerardo Parra has agreed to a contract with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan. The deal comes with a $2 million guaranteed salary, $500,000 in performance bonuses, and a $3 million vesting option for 2021. Parra became a fan favorite this past year in Washington as the Nationals marched to the franchise's first World Series championship, but the popularity was due in large part to his walk-up song -- "Baby Shark" -- and he didn't actually play much during the postseason. The 32-year-old outfielder ultimately slashed .234/.293/.391 in 301 regular-season plate appearances and likely would have had to settle for a minor league contract this winter had he opted to remain in North America.
  8. @atomic You can be an interesting and definitely entertaining poster, but things like this is why you are mostly an infuriating poster. You completely threw out what Drungo said as irrelevant and it was a direct answer to what you asked. Incredible. As for Betts vs Manny, I do wish we would have traded Manny with more time left on his contract for a much higher return of prospects, but I am not sure I felt that strongly back then. Hindsight being 20/20 and all that.
  9. Maybe it’s just an overly excited manager talking up his pitcher, but here is the article WC is referencing: https://www.masnsports.com/steve-melewski/2019/11/delmarva-honored-plus-a-look-at-a-pitcher-eligible-in-the-rule-5.html
  10. One more year and I’ll qualify. And be able to play senior ball up here. That place is amazing!!
  11. I wish they would come do that to our softball fields!
  12. That alteration sounds horrifyingly familiar. Like something we may have done between 98 and 11, maybe? Not to mention potentially taking roster spots away from the prospects we hope to see soon. No thanks.
  13. Aaron brooks is not the only one going overseas. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/20189/odrisamer-despaigne Odrisamer Despaigne signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization. The deal is pending a physical, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Despaigne owned a 9.45 ERA in three starts with the White Sox in 2019 and was outrighted off the team's 40-man roster in late June. Like many before him, the 32-year-old will try to get his career back on track overseas.

  15. He can take the day off right after we win the 2023 WS, but yea that's about it!
  16. Manny has a new home: https://www.google.com/amp/s/therealdeal.com/miami/2019/09/27/buyer-revealed-baseball-player-manny-machado-buys-tahiti-beach-island-manse/amp/
  17. Oliver Drake got the W in the clinching game for the Rays last night.
  18. Ignoring completely that you referenced that he would be an ace in our bullpen which DOES at least suggest your thinking is we should have kept him.

    Tyler Skaggs dead.

    Possibly. Probably?

    Tyler Skaggs dead.

Yes but very rare, transmusacol and different concentration. Regardless your right, terribly powerful drug on its own. I do hope they figure out who provided it.

    Tyler Skaggs dead.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is supposed to be released through the skin over 3 days and is usually for the most chronic pain situations (think hospice). Really sad he even got his hands on it. And guessing he got the medication out of the patch and ingested it all at once. Unreal.
  23. I am not offended, I said I find the term to be offensive, like talking down to someone. Regardless, I think you missed the intent of his post is all.
