You don't need to apologize but I don't think their game is similar at all. Kim made his money with low launch angle line drives and working the count. This kid has a big uppercut swing and a corresponding K rate.

I'm not arguing that Hobgood wasn't awful, go check the draft thread, I was livid. But the O's did end up spending 8.8M on that draft, which is the point I was making. Going underslot in round one doesn't necessarily mean that the team is going cheap on the whole draft.

I'd love to know how the law firm was doing. I have a suspicion that the team is propping them up.

We'll see. Folks thought the same when Hobgood was picked and it turned out they spent a lot that year.

I think that while they see value in his work he's one data point among many.
