  1. The fruit that is Davis has been lying on the ground for a couple of years.
  2. Wouldn't be the worst idea to get some of the position players some more instruction on the mound.
  3. You misunderstand me. I wasn't saying they shouldn't try and root it out. I was saying stop acting like this is something new.
  4. I know. MLB and the MLBPA have put out a joint statement flatly denying it.
  5. He said Trout had to pass stringent rules to get an hgh exemption for his thyroid issue. (Paraphrasing) What he meant to say that IF Trout had an hgh exemption.... Kinda a big difference.
  6. I took is as they used some substance.to improve their grip so the could impart more spin. You know, like what Matusz got suspended for. Of course Baurer really put his foot in the mouth with his Trout tweet today.
  7. Hey look, evidently the 80's White Sox teams did something similar. I'm shocked. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/jack-mcdowell-80s-white-sox-tony-la-russa-cheated/fac8vh3ph8vb1dkja2jox1n10 And the Mets. Heck this came out in 1995 AND NO ONE CARED. Cheated is ingrained in baseball.
  8. Honestly not sure how any rational person can not come down on the side of intentionally hitting someone = bad. i don't care if the individual risk is small, it's a needless risk.
  9. This is a nice piece. http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/sports/2009/august/History-of-Baseball-Players-Struck-in-the-Head.html I had forgotten this part about Don Zimmer
  10. Folks are saying "bean". The term bean, in the baseball sense is about hitting someone in the head (bean is an euphemism for head). Here is a SF Chronicle article. https://www.sfchronicle.com/giants/shea/article/After-a-beaning-it-s-a-fragile-road-back-to-11075017.php
  11. Your kidding right? What do you think a concussion is? Ryan Freel did have CTE when he killed himself.
  12. Folks have been talking about bean balls and when I push back I'm assured folks are "only joking". Brain trauma is one of the few things I won't joke about.
  13. I just don't get why folks think this is any worse than was already out there. They were stealing signs and transmitting the information to the hitters. That is still what this is.
  14. He does say the right thing with great regularity.
  15. Yes, you also literally said " Manfred made the best move for MLB." You said it as some sort of closing statement.
  16. The players have a union. Good luck getting the union to agree to punish players that cheated using buzzers but not players who listened for cues. Also good luck getting the punishments past any sort of unbiased arbiter. BTW Manfred's job is to make the best moves for the owners, not MLB as a whole. Never forget that.
  17. Have they started talking about taking his MVP away yet?
  18. Going Underground didn't say it was more egregious, just that it was a smaller number. So I'm sticking with the idea that he is talking about pulling over speeding motorcycles and not cars. How well would that work? I'm also at a loss how it is more egregious to cheat via tactile sensation instead of auditory.
  19. Better as in more efficient. Hard to keep folks from talking.
  20. I can't agree. They did the same thing they just used a different method. You can't prosecute one and not the other. Also the MLBPA would rightfully throw a fit. What you are talking about is pulling over motorcycles that speed but not cars.
