  1. From what I understand there are provisions in the agreement that cover these cases. Given that the two side agreed to the provisions I think his shorter suspension is an example of the system working as intended. What would be the point of them coming to an agreement on how to handle these cases only to throw the agreement out the window the first time the issue actually comes up?
  2. I'd rather they hang around just close enough they make an ill-advised Parra type deal instead of engaging in a sell off. Have to think long term.
  3. I don't want them cold in the ground. That would mean they trade Miller and Chapman. I want them just barely close enough that they don't sell.
  4. Did you see where Ortiz says he hasn't complained about ball/strike calls in a long time? So I guess all that jaw flapping he does every time an ump makes a strike call against him is just his sharing recipes for fondue.
  5. He should have ejected Ortiz after how he reacted to the strike two call.
  6. Tell that to Raffy. I do agree in Ortiz's case.
  7. Would be nice to get some salary relief on Gallardo's deal.
  8. Roberts? Frankly I was surprised by how many folks that are anti-steroid quickly forgive their own players for their transgressions. Going so far as to believe some rather outlandish claims.
  9. They were using, just no one cared. I don't care if they use now, so it is just the same for me.
  10. He gave himself away when he said how often he's been tested.
  11. I think he means back when the reporters didn't talk about it.
  12. I meant since it started counting.
  13. I am reasonably confident that Ortiz has been hit for greenies.
  14. How about instead of hope we drop predictions? I'll start. Altuve. I don't trust his exit velocity numbers.
  15. He was just trying to recover from injury faster, so he could help the team.
  16. It also gives the players whose parents have the time and money to allow them to participate a huge leg up.
  17. Had one in the '50's. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/01/sports/baseball/more-machine-than-man-an-electric-umpires-call-of-the-future.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0
  18. I think travel ball creates much more of a barrier than steroids.
  19. As far as the wrestlers go I think pain killers and brain trauma are bigger factors.
  20. Kim + Competitive Balance Pick for Markakis.
  21. O's asked the Braves about him in the off season, he wasn't on the market at the time.
  22. Do you think there is any chance that any owner would "spike" a player's supplies in an attempt to save $100,000,000 off a bad contract? I don't think teams should get off Scott-free from financial repercussions because a player they probably suspected of using gets caught. If anything I think the opposite, any monies owed to a suspended player should be donated to charity and should still count towards the team's cap number.
  23. I don't think he is on the short list to get sent down but the season is long.
  24. If he CA develop a passable change to use against lefties...
  25. It's dangerous having options when Dan is around.
