Frobby said that the neck worried the O's for 2015. You refuted his claim. I made a sarcastic comment about neck surgery in support of your point. Since, obviously, something like neck surgery could impact the rest of his career, and Markakis having neck surgery would certainly influence how the O's viewed a long term deal.

They were on the list. He used the power because he had the power. Me I think the Astos are in much better shape going forward then the Rangers.

Signing a player to a market value contract shouldn't have any impact on the trade itself.

I would be very hesitant to sign someone with his history coming off a career season to a multi-year extension in the first place.

I would rather have Davies then Mac (assuming he isn't miscast as the lefty in the pen next season). I don't think there is a chance in the world that Garcia will be starting in the majors next year.

I expect more then Chris Waters out of him. You need those guys and if Wright is in the Bullpen I don't know if the O's have one next year.

Yep. But I think even if he has an 880 OPS that he wont make the difference.

I don't even view Davies as a viable member of the rotation. I just see him as a guy that can pitch at AAA and if the O's need a sport starter for a day or a month they can bring him up.

I don't want to trade Davies just so I can "watch" Parra instead of Snider.

He will probably end up somewhere in between, but 700 is more likely then 880. Didn't we just see this with Pearce last season?

Why not? I mean ideally I'd have him hitting second but the difference in projected scoring is, I am sure, minimal.
