Bad luck can. The O's scored 129 runs more than they allowed and won 101 games. The Padres scored 104 runs more than they allowed and won 82 games. Two outliers, both situations that are unlikely to be repeated.

I don't think you can print playoff tickets yet. If some of the stuff that went right in 2023 goes wrong in 2024 they end up wasting a year of Adley and Gunnar.

You have to do the math. Is a greater chance at winning a WS in 2014 worth weakening the 2016-2020 teams to some degree? Dan decided it was and I agreed with him.

A lot of trades that are made will probably make the team worse in the long run. The Miller trade made the team worse in the long run, you wouldn't have made it? Anytime you are trading six plus years for two or fewer you will run into that. Sometimes you have to make a move for the current team.

I disagree. It's kinda odd how much Adley is discounted on this board. One of the few times I can remember a guy being more highly regarded nationally than at the team level.
