Well when you have the reputation of commanding the strike zone you are just going to naturally get some calls. The whole, Mr Musial will let you know when you throw a strike thing.

Right because certain players don't just end up favorites or targets for pretty random reasons. Mountcastle was getting grief for his smile earlier this season.

I've always figued he's have one big outlier year in which he'd get some down the line MVP votes. The Astros benched that player because he'd put up a 75 OPS+ over 51 games with the team. If Mountcastle closes like that this year I'd expect him to not get much playing time int he playoffs.

Didn't you look at the last CBA? It's part of the playoff tiebreaker. Teams get a point for every 2 out RBI and it's the final tiebreaker.
