  1. I know, and I'm not disagreeing with you. But GM's tend to value their 40 man slots. I think Elias has shown a tendency in the past to keep flotsam around.
  2. Buck is really good with the media.
  3. It does cost a 40 man slot. I don't think that should be a deal breaker but it is a factor.
  4. It could have been more a matter of the opposition instead of a change in his overall approach. I wouldn't read a lot into one game.
  5. I'd be interested in Fuji, depending on the price and how he finishes the season.
  6. So the people pointing out that for instance the 2014 Tigers had bullpen issues were just disrespecting them? Got it! I swear the Baltimore Inferiority Complex sure is something.
  7. It's baseball, it can happen. I don't see the value in pretending it can't.
  8. Who is disrespecting this team? I'm curious. I know Yankees, Met, Red Sox, Rays ect fans and none of them are disrespecting this team. I hang out on r/baseball and no one is disrespecting this team. Two thirds of the way through the season and they are on pace to win 100 games. Is pointing out they don't have a clear #1 to start a playoff series "disrespect"? I don't think it is.
  9. I'll disagree. You have the data that his mechanics have changed.
  10. I just checked and Fangrpahs have them at 94.9% which seems pretty low. I would have put it at something closer to 98.8 or so and I'm a noted pessimist.
  11. Justify to themselves. I don't get how you can reconcile hurting the team's playoff chances by going forward with a course of action that you know you have no evidence to support it.
  12. And if he pitches well what's the possible justification? Elias has said twice now that the data doesn't support inning caps.
  13. Or, if like myself, you ever remember a player by their nickname and are trying to recall what their actual given name is. I have absolutely used Baseball Reference for that. But so sorry for trying to be helpful. I'll try and remember that you don't need my help.
  14. What? I answered your question AND gave you a helpful hint. WTH is your problem? Edit- Now if I hadn't actually answered your question I could see where you might have a point. But I did. So go calm yourself.
  15. Want a cool trick? Baseball Reference knows nicknames. So you can just go to Baseball Reference and type in Baby Giraffe and Brandon Belt's page will come up.
  16. As opposed to a fan base that takes offense at every perceived slight because they are insecure and jealous?
  17. If he was suffering from vertigo and "seeing three balls" than he was being pretty irresponsible not informing the team. I imagine it's pretty easy to get yourself injured trying to play MLB under those conditions. I admire the desire to play through injuries but it's not smart.
  18. Gunnar has been watching Frazier in the field all season. I can't blame him for calling him off.
  19. Sure, but Arb3 is usually a pretty solid payday and a guy that is worth a QO is going to be bringing in more than that. Santander is making over 7M as an Arb 2.
  20. From what I've always heard the SS takes command of any ball they can get to.
  21. Flaherty signs a 5.4M deal with the Cards in January. I don't think I'd offer him a QO even if I could (19.65M).
