Why single those guys outs? Are we going to remove Hank Aaron? He admitted to using amphetamines. The simple truth is this, you can't have a hall of fame when you leave out the guys who had some of the biggest impacts ever on the game. It's not the hall of morality, it's the hall of fame. You want a plaque next to them about how they were caught doing such and such, that's fine, but to just pretend they didn't exist is akin to an ostrich sticking its head in the sand.

I'm at the point where I simply don't care anymore. Clemens, Bonds, etc should be in the HoF, put an asterisk if you want for known abusers. Keep doing what they're doing with the suspensions, but the current rule that lets a player come back from a suspension and then play in the regular season but not the playoffs is ridiculous. If you're so worried about the supposed cheater having an effect on the playoffs, then they shouldn't be back in the regular season either because I'm sure they're going to play in games that have an effect on who makes or misses the playoffs. Just really sick of people pretending like we have any idea when players started using enhancers, or how much the enhancers actually helped them, or that greenies are some how less cheating than steroids because our old timey baseball heroes couldn't possibly be as vile as Barry Bonds. It's all the same thing.

His .343babip is going to regress a bit, but he's also making the highest percentage of hard contact in his career 47.7%. Remember, we're still only a 1/3 of the way into the season. The players are still relatively fresh and older guys like Ortiz are likely to tail off as the season lingers on.

Betts is 24 years old, he isn't even in his prime yet. He's doing something Machado did just a few years back. As far as having your doubts, do you have those same doubts about those players of the 50s,60s,70s etc when they were on everything from cocaine,amphetamines,lsd and what not to greenies? Baseball fandom hates Barry Bonds for cheating but adores Hank Aaron who admitted to having used greenies. For whatever reason steroids has this stigma that they take a scrub and make him an allstar while greenies were nothing.

This is all in really bad taste. How is this any different than me suggesting it's awfully fishy a washed up Mark Trumbo now has 17HRs and is on pace for the far and away greatest season of his life at age 30. Nelson Cruz became an Oriole and had the season of his career up until that point at age 33. Chris Davis went from AAAA washout to 40+HR masher at age 26. Point being, it's classless to throw out accusations and that's what this is, despite what your title may claim, when you have zero evidence. Oh and just for the record, Manny jumped from 14HR in 2013 to 35 in 2015, which isn't all that much different than what Betts is doing.

I'm not saying on this forum, but nation wide. The media doesn't villify the NFL players or even really talk about PED use amongst the players. Yet they can't talk about baseball for ten minutes without bringing up some of that nature.

Can someone explain to me why using peds in baseball is this unforgivable sin when no one gives the slightest of damns when NFL players get busted?

Arrieta wins #20 in CGSHO giving up 3 hits,1 walk and 11Ks. His season ERA is down to 1.88 and his .44ERA 10 game stretch is the 4th lowest in MLB since ERA became a stat.

Following today's CG 1ER 2hitter, Jake Arrieta finishes the first half with 10W 5L 2.66ERA 2.59FIP 2.71xFIP 9.10K/9 How he didn't make the all star team is absolutely beyond me.

Keuchel and McHugh are both just really good pitchers. Keuchel had a 3.21FIP last year, 2.89 this year and McHugh had a 3.11FIP last year and 1.81 this year. I can't wait until they bring up the Correa who is far and away the best prospect in baseball.

Arrieta with a 7IP 2H 0ER 2BB 9SO line today 2.61ERA with a 1.02WHIP after today.

Jake Arrieta rebounded nicely from his worst start as a Cub, posting a 7 1/3IP 5H 2ER 1BB 4SO performance against the 2nd best offense in the NL. He's now sitting with a 2.77ERA and 1.05WHIP to go along with his 2.37FIP and 2.88xFIP.

Arrieta dominates again with a 7IP 3H 1ER 2BB 7K line today. 2.11ERA and .99WHIP on the year.

Strop has been quite good. 2.58ERA 3.13FIP 2.98xFIP 10.10 K/9. Yeah the BB/9 still suck, but he's also only given up 24 hits in 38 1/3IP so it's much easier to deal with.

Even if Astros do the right thing, is it fair to say they've done a ton of damage to their reputation among agents and therefore future draftees because of this whole ordeal starting with the dropping 6.5M agreement to 5M and on?

Remember they suspended the two kids that Philly GM Amaro reported on last year. It's not at all out of the realm of possibility.

This story gets even worse. The Astros' owner was quoted as directly contacting Aiken's advisor Casey Close. This means the NCAA has grounds to strip Aiken of his amateur status and he wont be going to UCLA or a JUCO next year.
