  1. Wow. How much did you bet on this game, Mr. Plate Ump?
  2. He just missed the restaurant. That's terrible customer service.
  3. Recorded our four outs. Let's score some more runs.
  4. Table six in that on field restaurant ordered a baseball, and Trey delivered it straight away. I hope he gets a good tip.
  5. Glad that their pitcher also ruined a high leverage batting situation.
  6. Clearly that Loria strategy of flipping the entire team every two or three seasons has built an insanely loyal fan base.
  7. Sure do love that NL pitchers get to bat rule. EDIT: Although I do find it somewhat funny that our pitcher appeared at the plate before he appeared on the mound.
  8. What if Ruiz has one of those bizarre seasons where he only hits with guys on base? Like he hits .200 but ends up with like 80 RBIs?
  9. Strike one in the opposite batter's box for Trey.
  10. Lakins upset, but if he'd thrown strikes... ?
  11. Yep, meaningless. But he's got to stop getting behind. ?
  12. Phew. First walk was statistically meaningless, but that one would have been bad.
  13. Ghost runner trivia fact: if the visiting team fails to score at the top of an extra inning, the home team win expectancy jumps to 82% due to starting the inning with a guy on second with no outs. ?
  14. That's reviewable, no? At least it has been in seasons past.
  15. Math definitely works out that way at the start of extras. Old way was a slightly weighted coin flip, about 52/48 home. This way at the start of the tenth, it's 2/3 visitors.
  16. Gonna have to go with hate it. I'd rather call ties after the 11th or 12th than deal with ghost runners.
  17. Odds of giving up at least a run don't change much with the walk. 40% to 42%. Texas expected runs go up if they score, but in a game like this, it feels like one run alone will do it.
  18. No wonder guys are having trouble hitting today. That guy is introducing additional gravitational pull around the home plate area.
  19. And double our team payroll? I don't know about that...
  20. Yup. You go from about 50% to give up a run in the inning to about 35%. Not the best result, but not the worst.
  21. I will be very clear on this. We could ascend to the ultimate power in baseball... dynasty after dynasty over the course of decades. A utopia of winning Orioles teams, and legendary greatness. And I'd be happy. But I would STILL celebrate every Yankees struggle that ever happened. With great joy.
  22. I don't know about this. I mean, how am I realistically supposed to enjoy the game without players being misidentified every three minutes?
  23. That's pretty cool. I have a stat tool that says that that was the only time since 1957 that the home team came back to win going into their part of the 7th when down by 9. Out of 902 total games with that situation.
  24. Really Boston? Challenging a call, up by 9 in the 6th? Seriously?
