Too bad for them that this isn’t the playoffs yet. Their day of reckoning is coming.

Now we know a bit how Milwaukee fans felt in 1982. Three games ahead, they lose the first three. And the HOF pitcher is going against them that Sunday. On the road in a raucous Memorial Stadium. And it is the last game of the year. And there are no wild cards. Nah, this ain’t nothing pressure wise. Or maybe the pressure of a World Series 7th game against that guy who is being honored again across baseball , Roberto Clemente. The home team won every game that Series except 1. Or being up 3-1 against that same town 8 years later in the Series and losing 3 in a row? Or there was no way we could lose 4 World Series games in a row to that bunch of Ron Swoboda Al Weis scrubs in 1969. Or how those Dodger fans felt losing 4 in a row including 2 games 1-0 to the Baltimore whos? Yes.. baseball.. it is a crying game! But you gotta love it!!!

It just feels like KC in 2014 or Mets in 1969.. we just are playing so poorly in this last week and we very well might get swept which means they will be up 2 games with the tiebreaker so 3 games effectively. We go to Houston, they play Angels so really this division race will effectively be turned if they win the 2 remaining games. The only thing then will be for us to try to regroup, break out of this funk before the wild card series.

When we talked about playing meaningful games in September, this was not exactly what we had in mind. They are meaningful, we just haven’t shown up.
