More Angelos as the fly in the ointment content
tntoriole replied to Yardball85's topic in Orioles Talk
From the Athletic “ Peter Angelos is 93 and reportedly incapacitated. Under the MLB constitution, a spouse or lineal descendant who inherits a club is subject to 50 percent approval from the other owners. A prospective owner who is no relation — Steve Cohen when he bought for the Metsfrom the Wilpon family, for example — must meet a higher standard: 75 percent.” https://theathletic.com/4170503/2023/02/09/reds-orioles-ownership-future-control/?source=user_shared_article -

Does Georgia have to be approved by the majority of ML owners in order to be the next owner or could the sale be forced ? Is MLB membership as an owner an inherited right? -

Hard to see how that happens. Angelos ain’t Art Modell. -

MLB will not let Camden Yards sit vacant. Angelos will never be allowed to relocate to Nashville. Never. -
Yes… why Lopez is not gone is baffling.

Imagine what this team would look like now with a rental of Josh Hader … our equivalent of Andrew Miller deal. Yes prospects would have left in return and it would have stung.

Adam Frazier should not play in the field
tntoriole replied to Three Run Homer's topic in Orioles Talk
Yes like the strong opinions about Frazier have not been shared previously lol. Urias won the Gold Glove last year ..likely not be winning it this year. And he has made more errors than one this season but none in such a critical moment. Not to worry, 2023 will soon enough pass and Adam won’t be the issue in 2024 I suspect. -

I agree… Adam made an error. As to whether it deserves yet another new thread again rehashing the decisions made about Adam Frazier, i really doubt it. Lol Why are there not multiple Ramon Urias threads after his egregious throwing errors including the other night? Was he not “blocking” Westburg this season too? It’s just baseball.. players are quite imperfect as we know. Given the buildup and expected fantasies though on this board about Westburg, I will obviously look forward very much to him being an outstanding second baseman for us in 2024 and for years to come. I do hope no one remembers 2023 mainly as the year Elias unnecessarily signed that guy Frazier who blocked Jordan Westburg and Joey Ortiz and Connor Norby. Oh, and the year we won the WS. -

Close enough to foul off…see Westburg at bat. I haven’t looked up this stat, but his strikeouts seem to have an inordinate number of looking at third strikes and I wonder what his pitches seen per at bat looks like -
So much of it hinges on the word “partial”. The classification of degrees of UCL injury is a complicated realm of MRI findings, clinical exam and grading based on these areas. It is not clear at all what exact grade of injury Felix has from what has been said publicly. What is clear is that it is not a complete tear. Below that, the MRI could have shown as low as thinning of the striatal fibers with edema but without tearing up through some percentages of incomplete tearing. No doubt it is on the low end because he would not be throwing at all with a higher end findings. He is no doubt undergoing specific conservative rehab exercises (ie tossing etc) and then MRI is being repeated. And throughout.. if he experiences any discomfort that too is factored with the MRIs The extreme force vectors of 102 mph FB though is a whole different kettle of fish. Now if he is not a good candidate for conservative nonsurgical rehab of this, then it becomes more of a clinical question. Can he actually throw without pain is the issue then. Yes, he might then tear it at some point, but if you think he will probably need surgery now anyway, then there is really no change in outcomes if he goes from a partial to complete. They have the best orthopedic and rehab specialists and MRI radiologists carefully assessing him. They will make the best call for Felix’s present and future career.
