  1. My Dad was a huge Milt Pappas fan and I remember in 1965 him ranting about that trade all winter . Glad he wasn’t in charge. He would have fit in on the OH though. Lol
  2. Yes… i would rather he just say.. there is a plan to win five years in a row and if it is not in our long term interest to trade the projected value players for current big leaguers, then I don’t trade.
  3. I am totally fine with trusting Elias and his staff’s judgment for now and next five years. If no trade, I will do what I do.. root for the Os every game till the end.
  4. And Frank Robinson came in return for Milt Pappas who was 26 , and at 26 already with 5 straight seasons as an excellent starter for the Orioles including AllStar that season of 1965 before winter trade. Although it has always been seen in lopsided ways, the reality is that a completely cost controlled TOR pitcher at 26 was what was needed in that trade.
  5. Philosophy change has to start somewhere.. maybe a stud prospect for Ohtani becomes the next star .. and rather than a 5 year total rebuild they have a 3 year rebuild. Their philosophy was my point, this is just more examples of it
  6. Exactly.. and they are headed for the next years where we were
  7. My point was more that it is their operating philosophy that is terrible .. short term and long term they have little clue. I am not championing these prospects as any savior or even as much good, my point is this is indicative of their “win now” mindset except they never win
  8. I think being in the basement will start to wear thin.. trade in offseason after this “going for it”flames out and Ohtani signs with Dodgers or Giants or Yankees
  9. Yeah “going for it” lol .. the mighty Angels may make a last wildcard .. not and they have not had a winning record in how long? With Ohtani and Trout? So they have already been in the seasonal mediocrity.. now they will enter the land of the basement This same lack of foresight in thinking you could “go for it” when you had a high likelihood of failure is good to watch other teams do
  10. The trade for Giolito cost them their 2nd and 3rd ranked prospects.. Quero, catcher was 65th MLB ranked and Bush, pitcher, not a top 100 So the Angels have 28/30 ranked farm BEFORE the trade .. after Ohtani signs elsewhere and Trout leave, Angels will be in last for years to come .. dumb because they have little chance of even making the wildcard imho
  11. Equivalence would have been Connor Norby -64th prospect and DL Hall
  12. Their number 2 prospect, number 65 in MLB and their number 3 prospect , Bush ..their farm was rated 28/30 after the draft .. now it has zip .. after Trout and Ohtani are gone Angels will be a last place team for five years
  13. Good.. Angels organization is a dumpster fire ..hope they get a comp pick only as their return
  14. The Angels are such a disaster.. postseason my rear ..I hope they get a comp pick only for the greatest player in baseball
  15. Aww poor multimillionaire.. he could stay if he wasn’t about the money lol
