  1. Hall is already on the 40, and Gunnar is in the organization. If the Orioles need them in the playoffs, they’ll be on the roster. My guess is they’re flying to Cleveland, so that they can be added on sept 1, without making a one day trip. That said my guess is Gunnar makes his debut during a home game.
  2. I think given how much ground there is to cover now between cf and LF at Camden yards, I’m not sure you can get away with a below avg cf unless you have a plus def LF. Also given mullins has a 733 ops, and 2.9 fwar I’m not sure that a below avg cf with an .800 ops is more valuable
  3. Orioles get two players when rosters expand, I know everyone is focused/hoping for Gunnar...but guess your two. I think it will be Bruce Zimmerman (with Hall struggling) and Henderson. And it will happen on Friday rather then Thursday
  4. @Tony-OHthanks for doing this, it’s one of my favorite threads, and I appreciate the work
  5. Any reports on his D? I wonder if he's a plus CF like Mullins, or more a plus LF who can cover CF (which is still valuable)
  6. I wonder if the quick promotion was because Fabian was a year older? or just crowded OF?
  7. The speed some of you want players to move through the system is amusing. He’s barely had 200 plate attempts at double A, and he’s striking out more then he’s walking. If his babip was a more normal .350, he’d only be hitting around .270-.275 right now. Perfectly respectable but not dominating.
  8. I wonder if he's suffering from fatigue a little bit. He also seems like a guy who is maybe trying to hard, and could benefit from trying to be less fine on pitch 1 and 2
  9. I don’t think it’s a hot streak vs cold. I do think they’re looking at quality of the at bat. The swing decisions, contact etc. And Gunnar has been striking out a lot. I wonder if he’s pressing knowing he’s close. (and Hall was a weird deal, almost like they were trying to make a point or motivate him. I wonder if he’s been resistant to some changes they want him to make)
  10. Odor, don't make a Vavra throw. Great pic by Mountcastle (edit on replay that was a harder play by Odor then I thought)
  11. Third time through the order is always dicey, and Kremer has definitely struggled. I didn't mind him coming back out, but I really would have had someone warming behind him
  12. Palmer's Pete Rose comment cracked me up...except that of course Rose managed to place bets while managing even back in his day
  13. Starting at 2B tonight with Hernaiz at SS, singled in his first at bat. That's a pretty good young double play combination of semi-underrated prospects
  14. That was the scouting report coming out of college as well. If the Orioles can help him make better contact, he's going to be a legit prospect
  15. Yeah, the body shaming on creed has gotten a little over the top. We have no actual evidence to support the idea that he doesn’t try to eat healthy, or work hard on his conditioning. All of us are built differently, and what our ideal body looks like is different as well. Kirk is a very good example of a “bad body” who is a successful major leaguer. If he can’t hit well enough to succeed, then he can’t. But so far he looks to be able to play catcher defensively.
  16. Gunna has been scuffling a bit at the plate lately. He is striking out a good amount. If they bring him up it’s fine, but I think the idea that he’s overmatching triple-A isn’t a reality.
