  1. Very encouraging for Akin who’s been trending up for maybe four starts now going back to the Braves.
  2. Let’s hope he can avoid the rough inning and get close to the 7th. Then, they can turn it over to Scott and get the desired result.
  3. Especially, with what Hyde said about his presence in the clubhouse. Much better after the AS break and was fighting through the knee for his last few starts.
  4. Right, but I was asking earlier why now? Seems I would have read about it here if he was lighting it up at Norfolk. I figured, at this point why not let him start fresh next year and see if he made any adjustments in the off season. Looks exactly like he did when he was sent down.
  5. I didn’t see all of it, but what I saw wasn’t good. In 4IP 5 ER isn’t good. And a lot, a lot of hard hit contact. Missing location most of the time on those. Of the seven hits allowed, three were HRs.
  6. Bump Has he improved in AAA enough to warrant a promotion? It seemed like they had plenty of options without him.

As in,”I can’t pitch without my Spider Tack.”
  8. They’re blowing it! Freaking Sulser pitching two innings??? Come on! Get with the program.
  9. Dang, forgot Akin, but Lopez is on the IL.
  10. I’d let him take Wells spot in the rotation, A Wells available for bulk work out of the pen. Even though he had some hard hit balls and didn’t miss many bats it’s clear to me who’s stuff is better. Baumann looks like he could be something, Wells looks like he’ll be trying to find a way to just stay at the ML level. He had a lot of hard hit balls as well and really struggled at one point to throw strikes with the curve. I thought his slider was better, but he didn’t throw it much. They could drop Harvey at this point to make the picture a little clearer. Means Akin Lowther Baumann A Wells Ellis Or, they could keep Harvey and continue to piggy back Baumann, Wells, Lowther or Ellis in some combination.
  11. Ok, Tate, you’re temporarily out of the IR doghouse.
  12. Last run is unearned. Definitely an error on Gutierrez.
  13. He’s gonna hit and he plays a decent 1B. I think he’ll only get better with experience there.
  14. Agreed, much more patient ABs and he’s getting better pitches to hit because of it.
  15. And moments like this are why I watch a team this bad.
  16. The graphic at the start of the game showed Wells FB usage at 53%. That might work at AAA, but if he throws it up here he’ll get crushed.
  17. Hays definitely looks more comfortable at bat the last couple of weeks.
  18. Yeah, it’s impossible. So, stop talking about it and call the game!
