  1. I commented on it in the GT. Looks much more comfortable and doesn’t chase as much. The pitch he took for ball four on the walk was one he swung at earlier in the season.
  2. Sure would be nice to see him string together a majority of good starts going into next year.
  3. I was busting your chops. I may have dated myself with that expression.
  4. Nah, it’s the rejuvenated Keegan Akin tomorrow night. But don’t hold me to that.
  5. Who’s MC? Anyway, Mancini is a great guy and has overcome a lot, but if they can’t trade him they should non-tender him. But I bet they don’t.
  6. I tend to chalk this up to unfamiliarity, or the Spenser Watkins syndrome. Hitters unfamiliar with a pitcher will make said pitcher look better than he is.
  7. Do you have a link or is that speculation? I thought the Angelos brothers had already been approved by MLB.
  8. The scrutiny should be lessened by then.
  9. I thought you were referring jokingly to AR. I’m not sure even the Orioles would sink to the level of gaming non prospect’s clocks.
  10. He needs more “seasoning” is the company line.
  11. To put a bow in our discussion, I agree with you about the shifting. Wynns is no big upgrade at catcher. He clearly can’t hit a lick. He’s been above average throwing out runners. My big gripe w/ Severino has been the passed balls, but it’s clear they’re both placeholders until AR arrives. Hopefully, the team can sign a defense first back up until they bring up Rutschman.
  12. Agreed. The plate discipline is concerning, but he’s a definite upgrade over Valaika. Exciting player to watch and a little unexpected pop.
  13. Because he resembles a small, dangerous automobile?
  14. No, they’re not. Wynns wasn’t even on the team when Severino was catching good Matt Harvey who turned into bad Matt Harvey before Wynns got there. Guess who Wynns caught five times in June when he was already trending down. Did Wynns make him pitch worse, or was he already pitching bad when Wynns got there? Catching ERA stats are not representative of much more than opportunity. Severino’s numbers in every defensive metric don’t support the idea he’s a good option. The best thing I can say for him Is he’s provided positive rWAR (0.9), but with -8 DRS it ain’t because of defense.
