  1. Taylor looked like he forgot he wasn’t in KC going after DJ’s long ball.
  2. Yes, to both questions. How to do that? Bring up a guy who clearly doesn’t deserve it.
  3. You think Lowther is better than A Wells? Not that I think Wells moves the needle, but I had heard he had the more recent success with Norfolk. Maybe they use both tonight. Maybe it’s throw them out there to see who’s on the chopping block. They can still rotate Baumann in before the end of the season.
  4. Not a great line either. It was ok, but three runs along with the three walks in 5.2 IP isn’t great.
  5. And more pitches caught for strikes.
  6. He is. I’d still like to see him tried as a starter. More chances to be impressive.
  7. Same, that was a frustrating inning to watch, but other than the number of pitches I thought his stuff was good.
  8. Same sentiment, but while Akin could have shaken him off the location was inside. Sanchez is a dead pull hitter, the location should have been low and away. They never went there.
  9. And then doesn’t call it both ways. Argh....
  10. Shocking, another umpire who makes up his own strike zone.
  11. Mancini aggressive there, I like it.
  12. Lot of people focus on RMs lack of walks in the past, but Hays doesn’t walk much either.
  13. Jones has not looked good in the box at all.
  14. Didn’t realize how good Montgomery has been since the AS break.
  15. I thought he meant to say open stance. He looks slightly open, to me at least.
  16. They do, but relievers are largely fungible. The glaring need on this team is starting pitching. And the ones who can do it have much more value than relievers. Wells has always been a starter and can be moved back into a relief role if it doesn’t work out. Most relievers are failed starters anyway, but they haven’t found out if Wells will fail as a starter. I don’t get the feeling they’ll try it, though.
  17. I agree. First off, people are forgetting last year was a lost season, especially for development. Secondly, the Orioles had no presence in Latin America. It takes time to get things in place and then reap the benefits. Third, to the extent you’re right about what happened in 2009 there were different decisions being made by ownership. Hopefully, Elias is able to spend adding FA talent unlike his predecessors who were limited by PA. I still don’t fully trust that will happen because “sins of the father“ and all that, but I’m willing to give them a chance. It should start coming together by next year. If not, I’ll expect nothing does until there’s a sale.
  18. You’re missing the point. Because of recent lack of play out there, I make him throw me out.
  19. Easy decision for the manager to put him on there. Tate shouldn’t be in the position to pitch to him or around him.
