McKenna is perfect for the role of 4th OF. Nothing to be excited about except when he’s in the field or running the bases, well, it’s fun to watch.

Maybe you’re a little too excited about a guy who has shown to be above average on offense and way below that on defense? Although, maybe it’s me. My life sucks.

Anything other than a starter would be an improvement. I don’t even like the idea of him as an opener at this point.

Bump Didn’t realize this thread hasn’t been updated in a while. So, in my OP I said I like his stuff. I do. He not struggles after a good start to get late into games, but recently has struggled at the start of games. His stuff can’t overcome his inability to generate any consistency. Bullpen? Maybe, but I’m not sure he’s any better in any role there. Getting close to cutting bait if it’s not already past time for it.

I actually think his decision in the top half of the 9th was worse. You don’t force a guy to bunt who struggles to even do it. Ridiculous. I feel like the two IBBs are defensible because they’re both guys with lift to their swings and McKenna is well, a roll of the dice.
