  1. Baker looking good. I am guessing this is it for him. 2 IP is probably what they're hoping.
  2. Why not Baker here? He didn't even warm up in either game yesterday (at least I don't think).
  3. Better arm. Although that's always been true, so why switch he and Santander now?
  4. That's pathetic on MLB.tv's part.
  5. Happy New Year, Ladies and Gentleman!
  6. At this point, I wouldn't mind spoiling Toronto's chances as well. But, if we lose tonight and Arizona wins, I will shift gears on a dime and say, let's just get swept and hope for another Dbacks win, lol!!
  7. One thing is he doesn't seem to expand the zone, seems fairly patient at the plate. With that said, he did swing at a pretty bad pitch on a 2-0 count and popped up.
  8. That was around the time I got interested in baseball and the Orioles. That year ended an 18-year stretch of winning seasons. I do remember getting within 2.5 games of first and also I think I was supposed to go to the Texas game you're referring to, but it was raining so my Dad decided to pick another game for us to go to late in the season.
  9. Yes, in 1930 an especially lively ball was experimented with. As a result, Hack Wilson drove in 190 RBI (revised in 1999 to have been 191 RBI) and set the NL record for HRs in a season with 56. The RBI record still stands and the NL HR record stood until 1998 when roided up Sosa and McGwire launched their assault.
  10. it was 4-32 actually, but I am hoping for something that good now!
  11. Could be. His kid has Familial Mediterranean fever and has had it since birth. The kid is awaiting an intestinal transplant. Not sure if maybe it got worse recently or it's something else that's bothering Jorge.
  12. What's going on with Lopez? Not sure why the velocity is down.
  13. Yeah, I know he’s paid well (compared to regular ppl) but how can you come to the park every day?
  14. Watch Rays relievers...they understand that batters are to be retired late in games.
  15. I used to think %s go against hitters. Someone needs to tell that to our relievers.
  16. We're playing the NL Central which would have happened in '20 had it not been for COVID. Our two separate two games series will be vs. the Cubs, normally was Pittsburgh when we played against the NL Central (in 2014 and 2017). The original '20 schedule had it that way (vs. the Cubs in two separate series) as well. Interesting that the Brew Crew hasn't been here since 2003, back when they had Richie Sexson. So, this is only their 2nd visit since 1997 before going to the NL. I kind of wish the Majors would have a schedule rotation with Interleague the way the NFL does it. That way we would know before the schedule comes out which Interleague teams are going to be home and away (other than the obvious Nats).
  17. Ok, that whistling caused me to turn the sound off...Good God!
  18. I think they’re just happy that “joy” rhymes with Choi.
  19. Definitely over-announcing and trying too hard to impress with the Spanish pronunciation of every name.
  20. Agreed. He has struggled in each rehab outing. Also, his pitches were moving like crazy before although I think his spin rate wasn't exceptionally high. This, to me is disturbing.
  21. Sadly, I think that's it (org. not viewing him as a viable prospect). I always liked his stats, but haven't seen anything impressive from him in the little I've seen of him this year. I wonder if his future could be as a situation reliever? Doesn't throw hard, so maybe not.
  22. No idea why for sure, but I would guess some of two and three. Also, it seems that Akin had a little more success in bulk roles. I don't like that Tate already went two innings on Tuesday, but I guess he'll have a strict pitch count and won't be allowed two go past the 2nd inning.
