  1. That's just an awful trade for the Orioles. No chance ME does that.
  2. Yeah, I don't even want Cease. Outside of 2022, he's not been special. Lots of other ways to improve the rotation.
  3. They need to add someone who would start a playoff game along with Bradish and GRod. Obviously things can change but that's how you plan it now. We don't know what Means, DK or anyone else might do this season but I hope there are three starters above them when the season starts. Elias has done a great job but he needs to treat 2024 like it's championship time.
  4. Great. So some of Hays, Santander, Mounty, Urias, Mateo are moving on then.
  5. This post just got quoted over there with an "lol". Fair to say, the fanbases are far apart.
  6. It just keeps getting better over there... What would Cease and Robert be worth together for Baltimore ? Let's say they keep Holliday but all their other prospects are available do you think a 2 for 7 or 8 very good prospects wouldn't be enough to excite the fan base or jump start this team for at least a run at the Central by 2026 ? Cowser, Kjerstad, Mayo. Ortiz, Beavers, Hall, Basallo, Norby, Westburg, Fabian, Bradfield, Jr., Povich, McDermott, Horvath. That's 14 guys. Take 7 of them and a couple lottery tickets and let's get this party started!
  7. ChiSox59 said: Kjerstad, Ortiz, Povich and Beavers is my ask and I am not budging. The thing I don’t like about this is there’s a decent chance Kjerstad turns into a LH Eloy and Ortiz turns into Jose Iglesias. I do like Povich and Beavers as secondary pieces though but I’m just not a fan of the two headliners.
  8. About as fair as the Orioles owner pocketing every loose nickel.
  9. Wow, that's terrible. Festa could maybe turn into something but likely not in '24 and Miranda stinks at positions we don't need.
  10. Oh, just joking that she didn't really speak during the clip.
  11. Maybe he could learn to express his art in Legos. Seems like a good dude for sure but he'll need a dog. The girlfriend must be a really great person or something.
  12. Are the Orioles still offering Bryan Baker and Hudson Haskin?
  13. I'm really enjoying some of these trade proposals around here.
  14. So, they think he's going to have the exact same season? Alrighty.
  15. Yeah, those things are clearly all related at some level and, yes, we all hope the nightmare will soon end. Fingers crossed.
  16. Hopefully, that finally resolves one ridiculous embarrassment. Now, address all of the others, like the stadium lease, sale/ownership rumors, and being a tightfisted, miserly cheapskate.
  17. You're not excited about the Jack Flaherty reunion tour?
  18. I care about it. We lost because the pitching was really bad after Bradish. Every starter in that series was way over his previous career high in innings. We still don't know how many innings Rodriguez can be effective in 2024 since he's never had a full season in the majors. I like Kremer but I didn't want him starting a playoff game last year. What happens if any of them get hurt in 24? The rotation is a mystery after those three right now and we were really lucky with starting pitcher health last year. What if the O's had grabbed Eovaldi instead of the Rangers. Maybe if the O's grab Montgomery at the deadline, the Rangers don't even make the playoffs. He was great in 11 regular season starts for them. No one wants some crazy trade or massive FA contract but they could certainly do more than adding Irvins and Fujis.
  19. It's not a mystery. Elias, himself, has said repeatedly that we need to acquire a good/3-ish starter and, for the last two trade deadlines, and last two off seasons, he hasn't done it. "But it's only [looks at phone] December 13th!!!!" And then it will only be Jan 20th, and Feb 10th, and March 1st, and so on. One of these times, he'll actually bring in good talent from the outside, spending real money and/or prospects, and that will be awesome, but it's been an extremely long wait. I love Elias and he's done a wonderful job. Everyone knows "they won 101 games!!" but they didn't win a single game in the playoffs. Surely this is about JA being a miserable cheapskate but that just makes the clocks on Adley and Gunnar as Orioles start ticking louder so I'm not so sure patience is such a virtue here.
  20. Yeah, well, he hasn't given out either kind. At all.
  21. This is what it looks like when everyone has accepted we have a POS owner.
  22. That may be the best FA the Orioles can afford.
  23. I don't disagree with you but I fully believe we still need another strong starter this season and that's not coming from FA or AAA. I also didn't suggest we had to trade for just pitching. If, for example, Elias doesn't really think Stowers can be successful in the show, and trades him for an 18 year old 3B prospect, I'm fine with that. I just don't want to see some of these older kids rot in Norfolk.
