  1. Time for Kjerstad to make his mark on the 2024 season.
  2. Arizona feasts off lefties, unfortunately Akin is likely your long man today.
  3. A double and three singles leads to one run. Meh.
  4. Adley jumping out of his shoes to get the skinny part of the bat on a pitcher's pitch on the inside corner. I don't understand how he's become this totally different hitter.
  5. Pretty lucky it's not 3-1. We need a bigger day from the offense than we've seen the last three games.
  6. Do ballpark ads have to be approved by MLB? What were they thinking with the "Boring never misses a pitch" ad by the Jumbotron? What is the #1 negative perception of baseball that MLB marketing has to overcome? Does anyone over there think about anything?
  7. Gunnar got himself out on a pretty bad pitch. I miss when the top of the order was selective.
  8. I think he can't believe the Pirates have a loud crowd on May 11.
  9. Frazier bomb off the Angels' closer to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead. Good time for his first home run of 2024.
  10. This would have been a good day to sacrifice some defense at first to play O'Hearn there and DH Kjerstad. Instead you just know Kjerstad is going to have to come off the bench as PH for Mateo against a tough reliever late in the game. Tough, tough road for Heston.
  11. Carroll has heated up a little bit from his terrible start, going 6 for his last 21 with a home run. I don't understand the point you're making about 2022. Adley and Gunnar were playing every day down the stretch. Bautista was closing games and Bradish was in the rotation. Grayson was not healthy, he was coming back from a lat strain. The Orioles went 15-18 in September and October, that's why they missed the playoffs. If you want to blame Elias for 2022, blame him for having crappy placeholders at the beginning of the year like Chris Owings and Robinson Chirinos that put the team in a 14-24 hole before Adley came up.
  12. On the one hand, the streak is cool, and I really like looking back at the lineups the O's were running out there the last time they were swept in the regular season just to see how far they've come as an organization. On the other hand, every time the streak is brought up it just reminds me of the ALDS whether or not it counts, and you can't brag about the streak around fans of other teams or they'll throw the ALDS in your face. It would be like if it got constantly brought up that Ubaldo Jimenez never gave up a walkoff home run.* *in the regular season
  13. After processing the ridiculousness of last night's game, one of my first thoughts was "what a shame that Kimbrel cost Kyle Bradish the win." Of course I know that pitcher wins are meaningless and outdated and almost nobody will look at Bradish's win total when considering him during awards voting, salary arbitration, or free agency. I certainly don't want Brandon Hyde to think about win eligibility in his decision-making. But a part of me is sad that Bradish has come back and been awesome and doesn't have a win yet. I'm not like this with other obsolete stats. I don't care at all if Gunnar Henderson drives in 100 runs, I don't care if Adley Rutschman hits .300 for the season, but I get bummed when our guys lose out on a deserved win. Am I completely alone here, or are there any other closet win fans?
  14. Not letting Kjerstad take this AB is bull----
  15. Nationals have their best relievers still available.
  16. But why not Webb since Abrams hits lefties well?
  17. If Melanie and Ben know that Abrams is a reverse splits guy, why doesn't Hyde?
  18. Marked safe from: Cionel Perez's 5/8 eighth inning
  19. Cionel has nothing working.
  20. What a crappy 0-2 pitch from Perez! He got real lucky there.
  21. I mean that was a seriously impressive at bat by Young. Does anyone on our team take that last pitch?
  22. Parker is really lucky the Orioles haven't done more damage.
