  1. That was bball 4 on Mullins. Verlander getting the Star treatment from the umps today.
  2. Ryan just looks awful now, but that called strike on the check swing was awful.
  3. Yeah, we get an injured Trout (may or may not be serious moving forward), and the Angels get Jackson Holliday, Grayson, Cedric & D.L. Hall. No thank you. Would not consider for a second. But that's just me.
  4. I am not comping him, but with how hard he swings at the ball sometimes reminds me of Thome.
  5. Watching Stowers run around the bases stoked after the home run was absolutely joyful.
  6. Yeah, no way was he going to turn 2, and imo the most precious thing in that situation, to loosely paraphrase Earl, was your runner on third. There is always a good chance of being thrown out at the plate from the 1st or 3rd baseman on a fielded ball when going home from third base, but if he simply waits and the ball gets by the 3rd baseman, he can walk home. If not he forces the 3rd baseman to still make a play while maintaining his position on 3rd. There is not much downside to playing it conservatively in that situation with 0 out, but getting thrown out at the plate was a huge advantage to the White Sox. It was such a bang bang play, though, I don't think criticism is warranted here, he will score on that exact same play other times.
  7. Of course we should enjoy watching him, as I have as much as anyone, and let him get many more at bats than he has now. But if it turns out that his natural RH ability is substantially less than his LH ability, then the odds of hitting better lefty vs lefty might not be as long as you think. Just my opinion, of course. Either way, it's just a message board opinion and in the spirit of friendly fan conversation.
  8. I am one who commented earlier this year that Adley should possibly consider giving up batting RH'd. He simply looks overmatched by mlb pitching from that side a lot of the time. That is not criticism of Adley, either, just an honest observation of how he looks from the right side against mlb pitching, and how beautiful he looks from the left side. Perhaps his natural ability from that side has reached his limits at the ml level. This is not something I think should happen immediately, but if he continues to struggle from that side imo it should be considered.
  9. Does Reggie count for the year he was here?
