Well, to my mind, the Minor League way did not slow down the game any more than it takes for an ump to stop and respond to chatter from a dugout. This way, ump union is happy, managers are happy, and only on questionable calls will there be challenges. I think they start with three to begin a game and go from there, losing on bad challenges, I believe.

The times I've seen those on Minor League games they took no more than it takes for MLB Gameday to show a pitch box. In fact, that's what was shown each time, a pitch box.

I propose a new rule. If an ump keeps missing outside pitches, a team can protest and make the ump move his stance a little more that direction. I don't know how the rest of the rule should go, maybe people can add to this

I suggested this in jest in the game thread, something like "if I had known it would be this exhausting" kind of thing.

I always wondered why bullpen sessions are not figured in between appearances. Surely he's thrown more than 19 in bullpen sessions. Do they really not throw full speed between appearances or just do soft tosses?

There's no such thing as bad pizza, bad sex or winning a division.
