    No wonder you liked Bedard.

    Best media Bedard exchange ever:

Bedard:  Okay, I'm only answering three questions.

    Media member:  Why only three?

    Bedard:  That's one.

That one made me laugh out loud as I was watching.

I liked Bedard, word is his teammates liked him.  Thing is he didn't suffer fools so the media didn't care for him.

So very much of our opinions about players is filtered through the media.

I loved watching him speak after games.

Plus a mental error, as Urias never should have thrown the ball home in the first place.   The runner was basically planted at 3B before Urias threw the ball.

Oh, it was horrendous.   You would be done for the day for that in high school.

Sorry, mistyped.  Jorge's major league ERAs in the last 3 seasons:

    2018:  5.05

    2019: 6.33

    2020:  6.69

Jorge Lopez' MINOR league ERAs in his last three minor league seasons:

    2016:  5.78

    2017:  4.25

    2018: 5.26

What exactly do the Orioles or anyone else see in this guy?  He's the pitching equivalent of Johnnie LeMaster or Luis Pujols.

Maybe the Players Union thinks he is good for morale.

    Game 7, April 8

I didn’t see this game, but I know it included:

    - A terrific diving catch by Mullins in LCF. In addition to the very athletic dive, he had to stay focused on the ball while Mountcastle was also diving for the ball behind him.   Luckily they did not collide and Mullins made the catch.

    - A possibly catchable ball that Mountcastle didn’t catch.

    - On the same play, Mountcastle overthrew 3B and while the runner who was diving into the bag held there, the batter ended up at 2B.

I don’t really know of anything else that may have occurred in this game.

He also threw to the wrong base one time.  He didn’t look good today.

Total ERA over 5 in 2018.

    Over 6 in 2019.

Over 6 again with us in 2020.

    His career WHIP is 1.50.

What are we expecting to get here exactly?  Not trying to be a overt pessimist.

Sometimes he looks good one time through the order.  I think a combo of Lopez and LeBlanc for 6 competitive innings would be a win.

The game specifically that I think off is OD at Camden Yards and Rick Sutcliffe.

But more generally, I remember my mom would always come pick me up from school early so I could watch the game.  I've continued that tradition with my own kids.  Will be leaving work today and picking up my kids around 1PM for a "family activity".

My son told his teacher that he wasn’t feeling well because he had baseball fever for the last opening day with fans ?

Is he though? You can find plenty of readily available data that he and Ruiz are kind of the same offensive player. In fact Ruiz has better exit velo numbers. So I wonder if Elias and Co. see something else, or if there's some kind of roster shakeup yet to be revealed.

One difference is Franco hits right handed pitching better

Remember that week, week and a half, back in 2019 where Davis looked like an adequate ML player?

    Good times.

I’m actually having a hard time remembering that.
