    I respect what Peter Angelos was able to do with the MASN and the deal that was cut, but it was prime to be litigated.  Did anyone think for a minute that the owners of the Nats would settle for being the second fiddle team in the region?  We ARE going to get the short end of the stick on this in the end.  I don't think there is any doubt.  DC is the larger market AND there is likely a grudge of some kind between MLB and the Angelosii. 

    It's crazy to me that all of the area the O's once held down into NC is now DC.  But if this is accurate and MLB sees it THIS way, we will soon be a very small market team.  I have no clue as to how the lines could be drawn differently, but it would seem that maybe our farm towns could be included in a swath to our region.  Yet losing DC is biggest loss, obviously, and there's a big part of me that thinks that we should receive some grandfathered benefit for a long time.  But will we?  We usually get the short end of the stick.

    My guess would be Akin, he and Eshelman were the two that hadn’t pitched.  I guess Ortiz is a possibility too.

    I guess they have a couple of million dollars to use toward the instillation of that equipment now.

    It also will allow them to give their 2nd year high school players that are not ready for Aberdeen/Delmarva a place to play along with giving their college players a better experience than the GCL with it's hot, humid day games. this would open up more spots for DSL players as well.

    With all the new emphasis on the international market, it makes some sense to add a team here in the states, and getting back into the Appalachian league would be a nice step.

    It also wouldn’t hurt to have an affiliate in western VA in terms of market.  I know that even though I was an Orioles fan I followed the Pirates and Braves growing up because I saw those guys play in Manassas and Richmond when they were in the minors.  I actually snuck away from my homecoming date to watch Ron Gant and those guys in the playoffs ?
