Top 100 prospects midseason update...we have Rutschman at 6, GrayRod at 47, DL Hall at 64 and Mountcastle at 70
Orioles have 4 in top 100
Red Sox have 1 in top 100, at 90
Jays have 2,
Yankees have 2,
Rays have 7.
Which list?

Guess not having interns to take advantage of anymore has old Steve cranky. What a clown.
He has -0.5 WAR as a position player. 0.2 as a pitcher. Would have been great if someone had brought that up to Steve Phillips

Minor league rehabs can last up to 20 days, right? And then the guy has to be put on the roster or else has a setback and goes back on IR.
So that would be August 12. Still 20 days before rosters expand. I wonder if they would bite the bullet and send down the 8th reliever for 20 days just to avoid cutting him.
I'm not saying I want this, just speculating. We have the Davis precedent, obviously there are differences.
I would like to see Davis gone if Trumbo is ready.

In the middle of a 40 HR season, there was a thread to DFA him. Haha.
Sounds about right.

It's illegal? MASN should offer streaming. They should sell stand-alone packages or at least be on Sling-TV or other streaming services.. I can watch the Capitals and Wizards on Sling TV. Ravens are on free TV. If you aren't willing to sell a product you can't be upset when people aren't buying it. Anyway I am not watching the games.
You don’t watch Orioles games ?!?

I saw Daniel Cabrera thrown a ton of rising fastballs. Some of them went half way up the screen.

Orioles are the second worst team in the AL, thank you.

Link explains it. Threw 98 mph before TJ surgery and now throwing 92 mph.
I saw that. His TJ surgery was a long time ago though and he went from a sub 5 ERA to an infinity ERA in a year after a few years of not being that bad.

Matt Harvey DFAed today, worth a look?
What happened? He and Straily both seem to have fallen off a cliff. Were they injured?

Yes, people too easily forget that Flaherty played a very important role for us in the postseason: 9 for 32 (.281) with two bombs, four walks, 5 RBIs, and his invaluable versatility in the field.
Made a great play at 3rd in the playoffs.

Flaherty was good. He played a great 3B during the 2014 season in Manny’s absence. TJ McFarland was good and is apparently doing well for the Diamondbacks. They didn’t have much WAR, but they were both valuable contributors.
I think Toronto’s Joe Biagini is the best pick of the last several years by a lot, and Odubel Herrera was a great pick by the Phillies, but he regressed last year or so.
Santander can end up being a valuable player and I’m glad we have him.
Flaherty, McFarland, and Rickard were all flawed but useful players. It would be nice if Santander could be an everyday player. He is playing well.

Last week I noticed how well the starters were doing ( well as many of the A ball starters). For the first time in a long time we might see a AAA rotation with prospects AND and AA rotation with prospects next year.

I know this will get moved to the minor league board but I think all the OH readers will love this view of the future.
The line between the majors and minors is very blurry at this point

Acevedo being on there is very interesting. I would imagine they didn't have a blurb for every one of the players on the list but I would very much like to read a scouting report on him. I know nothing beyond that he's young and very tall.
Only on the Top 10 and none of it is stuff you haven’t seen on OH.

I thought a quote was when, you know, a person puts up both hands w fingers curled and extends the index and middle fingers like rabbit ears and then flicks them twice.
That’s called quotey quotes.

Oooh they can add a line about the two wildcard appearances!
I think being the best player on your team and going to the playoffs half the times is probably a good way to get to the hall of fame.

Maybe I don’t understand their system. Do players currently go to these academies before they’ve been signed by a club?
The people that I knew were on the team and had an ID card that allowed them to gain entrance. I can’t imagine they got much money, but they had the facilities and coaching available to them.

I forget do they give out a pennant for best record in the AL 2012-2016?
Think it is going to go on Manny's HoF plaque? "He helped lead the Orioles to the best record in the AL over a five year period."
Maybe it should. Five years is a long period of a career.

So it would be hard for him to hit that poorly?

I hate Brian Dozier.
What if Mancini/Santander/Núñez are actually this good?
