  1. Thinking about it, this could just be a replacement for Vielma. Speaking of which, he will probably be 60 day DL'ed after surgery Wednesday.
  2. Probably. I believe in the "General Manager" version, 5 "light hitting" utility players can be traded in for 1 AAAA prospect.
  3. High power, low contact, high "swing and miss." Also not that sharp of a fielder. Oh goody.
  4. Per Britt, the Orioles claimed Renato Nunez off waivers from the Texas Rangers and sent Tim Beckham to the 60 day DL. Nunez was claimed by Texas on April 15 from the Athletics after being DFA'ed. He is mainly a third baseman but has played a few games in the outfield and at second and first in the minors. Played a split between 3rd, left, and right field in the majors. .167 career MLB average and a career .263 MiLB average.

  6. Roy, I have already placed a bid on something you posted. Even car salesmen stop once the credit check comes back. Though maybe you can talk to Davis. He has more money than I have made my whole life and I'm sure that the kids need funds more than an overpaid ballplayer...
  7. Can we start a GoFundMe and make it happen?
  8. 0.68 ERA after tonight. 3 k's, 0 walks, 1 hit in 2.1 IP. Not bad.
  9. Convenient timing. Sardinas to DL and Trumbo comes back.
  10. The best move behind it is that he can score on a wild pitch, passed ball, or balk. Chances are slim, but you never know what a runner on third could do to a pitchers concentration.
  11. Actually, no. The only reason Vielma is up now is to take the place of Beckham being DL'ed. With Peterson coming, one of the two will have to go to make room on the 25.
  12. Can they send a package deal of Vielma and Sardinas down?
  13. Sedlock. Wait, what was the question again?
  14. That's about when most promotions happened the last few seasons. Well, the noticeable ones, not org guys filling in for other org guys.
  15. The offense took a cue from the big squad and only got 1 run and 2 hits the entire game. Also, the bullpen isn't bad either. Katz and Seabrooke took the last 4 innings, with 4 hits scattered, 1 run, 2 walks and 5 strike outs between them. Kept them in the game, but again, the offense was just lackluster.
  16. The thing that scares me about that is... His "hard hits to the opposite field" are a result of his decreased bat speed. He is hitting them the other way because he is late, not because it's intentional. This is early in the season. How much more will the bat speed decrease as the season goes and he gets tired and nagging injuries pop up?
  17. Ok, so I take back my "tapping into power" joke...
  18. Tapping into early season power.
  19. Wilkerson had it the year before too, but it was mostly from the right side. Of course, the question to me will always be, how much did Wilkerson develop and how much was lab influenced? I'll only be in Delmarva once, *maybe* twice this year, so I'll trust your MiLB.tv reviews on him.
  20. I'll have to check him out. I liked Stevie and he had some decent pop and speed, getting a good amount of extra base hits and putting some balls over the fence. If he plays well, but doesn't project as "just" as shortstop, I would think utility. Especially if they like Reyes and keep him at third and want to move Mountcastle to second. If he starts getting some games in the outfield too, then I would think "super utility" and keep an eye on him for the next 2 seasons.
