Norfolk has no third catcher right now, with Godoy being in Baltimore and Kolosvary electing free agency. I'm thinking we will see some releases.

Talking to a horse so dead, rigor mortis has come and gone, but I wouldn't look into Kolozvary being the one put on the 40 right now too hard. He was on the taxi squad, already in Baltimore. They needed a 26th player, who was a position player. Tonight, he will collect his meal money and enjoy room service. Tomorrow, or very soon, he will be a blip on the waiver wire.

Per Roch, the IL move is retroactive to the 10th. They probably feel like he will be fine in a week. Having Kolozvary instead of Westburg or Cowser just gives them flexibility with McCann/Adley in the meantime and gives them a DFA option afterwards. If this was a true “sticking” move, Godoy would have been up instead.

Orioles just made a trade with the Yankees for minor leaguer Jose Godoy, who is starting tonight.

Elias also likes control. If he can get another veteran that can be on and off the 40 man with ease and stay in the system like Bemboom, he'll take it. McCann had 2 years left on his deal, so he is still with the Orioles next season unless something weird happens.
