  1. Was Harper a good fit inside the club house? I thought I had heard some teammates where glad he was gone.
  2. Baseball is a fickle sport. Ole "Mo" changes back and forth sometimes, and at this point, I think its a even toss up, about who has the advantage to win or lose.
  3. Felt almost like a Paul Harvey and now for the rest of the story, didnt it?
  4. This guy saved the game for the NATs: https://www.si.com/mlb/2019/10/30/stephen-strasburg-nationals-saved-season-world-series-game-6
  5. WS is and always will be about pitching, pitching, and more pitching.
  6. Frobby thanks, didnt realize it was an old thread, I need to start looking at dates better. I really like Zack, but stopped following him, in pin stripes, not his fault.
  7. not like the guys that replaced him are doing stellar work here.
  8. Other pitchers were thought in OH to be toast, Arrieta, Strop, Miggy, Norris, and a few others. Heck look at Verlander, Tigers were so wanting to get rid of him, they sent $20 mil with him to Astros. Its such a fine line, between being able to get hitters out and getting knocked around, that its not always easy to see when somebody is done.
  9. I believe I have said many times on here, that I didnt see Buck going back to the grinds of being a manager in his time after being an Oriole. I was shocked he was even interviewing.
  10. I ran across this today. What a memory moment from a really bad time in Oriole History http://thebadoriole.blogspot.com/2009/12/os-lowlights-of-2000s.html
  11. Sounds like Buck is losing out on the Mets job. But, that might be his gain. https://www.nj.com/yankees/2019/10/mlb-rumors-ex-yankees-manager-joe-girardi-to-phillies-eduardo-perez-to-mets-would-make-buck-showalter-odd-man-out.html
  12. For the record, this has also been reflected in how little bit of the Redskins I have watched, due to their ineptness.
  13. Your right, and I for one, am guilty of that, heck, my TV watching of the team has diminished, I guess that makes me a fair weather fan.
  14. There is also something to be said for very short lines to my own restroom, and not miss too much of the game because of physical needs that can't be avoided.
  15. Having some family in the Carolinas, my unofficial opinion is, the two states are pretty much Braves for MLB, but college Football and Basketball is a religion to them. There is a sprinkling of Oriole Fans in some parts of NC, near Norfolk.
  16. That was a huge mess he inherited, so you make a valid point.
  17. Sorry, I could have sworn, I read the other day, there was 5 openings. MMM So 2 for 2, sounds like, he is indeed serious about getting back into the dugout.
  18. So Buck is to blame for Angelos out bidding himself on Davis. Thats a theory, I will have to say. Was Buck to blame for Manny getting the cold shoulder for getting a new contract here. I thought Buck wanted him here, and if Buck had Pete's ear? Dan said Davis money did not take away from protentional Manny money.
  19. Good points, I do not like his in-game moves, and specifically at the job of my list, is how he manages a pitcher staff/pen. Some of it could be considered luck, the Nationals improved after they hired Dusty. Some say, it was because the team finally got healthy and played to their ability. Probably a bit of truth to both sides of this.
  20. He has interviewed with the Phillies and Angels, if you believe sports internet media reports. How many open jobs are there currently?
  21. I would be surprise if Buck chooses to manager again. Collect the same money in the booth and not have the 24x7 headaches of being the manager. Some guys thrive on it. I suspect he is a position to be choosier about where he works, of course, there has to be be interest on the club side of things too.
  22. So Angelos started distrusting Dan when Toronto indicated a desire to hire him? Sorry it just doesnt add up for me. Funny thing it, it was working well, in spite of the dynamics of those involved.
