  1. Orioles have three picks tonight, what is everyone hoping we come away with after tonight? For me: One college stud pitcher A high upside SS Another high upside, position player ( could be catcher, infield or outfield)
  2. This prospect update only reinforces my own opinion of what I think the draft should look like for the Orioles: Select and sign as many position players as possible We actually have decent quality and depth pitching-wise in our system
  3. I like him too. I think he'll be drafted in the first 20 picks though. No way he reaches our second pick.
  4. @Cy Bundy Why do you hate Priester so much?
  5. Quality post, I've had similar thoughts but am hoping he addresses this by taking some SS/infield guys in the second round and below. AR and then Mathew Lugo (Puerto Rico Academy #1 Prospect) is my dream scenario
  6. regardless, the pick has to come down to Adley or Bobby Witt Jr.
  7. I'd love it if we went Adley in the first round, Lugo or hinds in the second, And then three of Elias' favorite arms that were left.(prefereably a mix of college and HS arms) I'd prefer to see Adley start in Frederick with D.L, Knight, Bishop, Hannifee etc. Lugo or Hinds would start in GCL You'd scatter pitchers between GCL and Aberdeen (HS in GCL, College arms in Aberdeen)
  8. Even though he'll probably have to carry out his service commitment and won't play in the minors for at least a year? I am kinda assuming he fall's down the draft boards because of this
  9. Assuming the orioles can sign all four, I would assume all four would instantly be top-30 prospects in our system, if not top-20.
  10. It will be interesting to see what the orioles do with that second pick. Do they go college arm and add to the group of Gray-ROD, knight, and D.L. (who should all reach the Orioles at around the same time)? Do they go after another H.S. pitcher and continue to tier pitching throughout the system? Do they go H.S. or college Bat and try to infuse some position player talent into a farm system that is very dry in that category?
  11. I'm ready to get him into our system and working with our young stud pitchers
  12. Adley has a better BA and more HR's while playing a premium position
  13. As the Orioles drafting in the second round, would they be drafting spencer jones as a first baseman or a LHP? Has this spring filtered him into one direction or the other positonally?
  14. yes, he was widely regarded as the top hitter in college though and suffered an injury late in the year which only caused a slip to 6th overall.
  15. Does having better catchers in your farm system help with the development of arms throughout the system? I would love to have AR moving through the minors working with guys like Gray-Rod, D.L., Knight etc.
  16. Long time follower, first time poster
  17. If he plays well through July, any chance they try to flip him for future prospect lottery tickets or is he "part of the future"?
  18. In this picture, I'm not sure which one i want to be alvarez haha Love the signing though
  19. I'm not comparing mancini to alverez, im comparing mancini to josh fields. You helped prove my point. I wouldn't be surprised if ME traded some guys for young lottery tickets this summer.
  20. In 2016 the Astros traded josh fields, who had a 6-something era at the time, to the dodgers for Yordan Alverez who they had just signed at the beginning of the international signing period. Yordan is now the astros #3 ranked prospect, #42 in top-100 rankings. I think mancini will have better value than a 6-something era, but I will not be surprised at all if ME does something similar this year.
