  1. Very similar body type to Charlie Morton who was successful at ages 34,35,36,&37. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mortoch02.shtml
  2. Walker got four years and is 30 years old with 898 innings pitched. Eovaldi will be 33 with 1257 innings pitched. Bassitt will be 34 with only 737 innings pitched. His arm is fresher and I believe he will age well. Would Bassitt turn down a 4yr 80 million dollar from us? Maybe 23,22,18, and 17 million as the payouts. He has been productive wherever he has pitched. He has a 46-34 career record while Eovaldi is 67-68 while playing with Yanks and Red Sox.
  3. No doubt. At least with the NFL we can see what the cap is even though it seems to be ways around it. We don’t have insights on how much ownership has given Elias to spend. MLB really needs to do something about it. With the luxury tax, a team like the Mets might out spend us 10-1. Before the season starts we can pretty much pick the teams that will make the playoffs. Maybe one or two will surprise. We just gotta hope we are one of the surprise teams.
  4. Lol why not just give him the 7years he wants for 200-210 million. Orioles must be trying to model the Ravens in right player at the right price.
  5. Senga off the board https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/mets-to-sign-kodai-senga.html
  6. Wow you guys don’t mess around. Went into a meeting and come out and it’s six pages on the word liftoff.
  7. Would the Marlin be interested in Urias? Maybe Urias, Hays, and a prospect for Lopez? Or just Urias and Hays?
  8. I would offer 4 years for $75-80 million. Trade for Lopez and the rotation would be more than set.
  9. This is how we receive Oriole contractual news- twitter from unknown sources and walking down the block you hear some guys taking what the contract numbers are. DeGrom signs and he passed his physical and we have all contractual numbers.
  10. Interesting numbers on Lopez last year. Had five starts vs Mets with a 9.53 ERA. In his other 27 starts his ERA was 2.92.
  11. Saw some twitter stuff about 1yr 5 million but nothing from any major outlet yet.
  12. I hope he is a replacement for like Bradish. Maybe we are trading Bradish and Hays to the Marlins for Lopez. Then we are trading some young guys for Brian Reynolds who just requested a trade. We already have a ton of Gibson’s in the possible rotation with Kremer, Bradish, Wells, Voth, and Watkins. Gibson has pitched ten seasons with three of the being above 100 ERA+. Folks it’s time to wake up and hold folks accountable. We have been so mediocre at all we make excuses for poor signings ie He is Lyles 2.0, we probably got him for less than Lyles, we not done yet, etc. I don’t care how much we paid for him- it’s not my money.
  13. I guess this is the new norm now with a lot of these meetings taking place over zoom. Wonder how a presentation looks compared to bringing them in and showing them around the ballpark and certain areas. Maybe these are just initial meetings and if you make it to a second date then you get a live meeting. If we get Rodon/Bassitt/similar type with Noah as the #2 or #3 I guess that’s okay.
  14. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/orioles-to-sign-franchy-cordero.html
  15. Most of us will be too! This is infuriating and depressing at the same time if this is one of the bats he wanted to add. It probably is though because why would he give him a split contract and guarantee him 450k for just the minors.
  16. Well I guess Roch was correct. We definitely not going all in the Tier 1 guys.
  17. That one year deal for 8 million is looking pretty good for Clevinger.
  18. Well this Twitter page also says we are interested in Bundy and Cueto.
