  1. Well I hope Elias is actually thinking about how our rotation will look for a playoff run right now. It would be malpractice for him not to be thinking about how our rotation stacks up vs the AL playoff contenders. BTW since let’s say 2000, what are some of the “worse” rotations that have won a World Series?
  2. We definitely need to look at the American League Central as a possibility to get a starter. Cease Bieber (extremely consistent) ERod (affordable long term contract) Singer (why so bad this year) What would it take to get EROD?
  3. It’s good to have options! It’s definitely better than trying to find the best combo out of Ruiz, Alberto, Galvis, Franco, etc lol.
  4. Well if you were hoping for a Phillips reunion, the Angels broke your heart! https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/01/angels-to-sign-brett-phillips-to-major-league-deal.html
  5. Let’s say we traded Santander for Lopez. Could we package Kremer and Urias for an OF? What would a package look like for Brian Reynolds?
  6. Overpaying for a TOR starter is one thing. It is something that we would want Elias to do. He should have done it already if needed, maybe before spring training, maybe deadline, or next offseason. Overpaying for an average OF/DH is another thing. He could have just signed Mitch Haniger.
  7. We are not trading Santander! Who would we replace him with at this point? Don’t say Stowers because they barely played him last year. I thought Santander was getting some reps at 1B last year? He is probably the backup first basemen some games and will DH some games too.
  8. One of the comments on MLB trade rumors: He registered a .291 .382 .479 .861 slash line at AAA in 2022. Could be a diamond in the rough. Fans everywhere are hopeful!
  9. Damn shame that his dad didn’t want him for the Angels.
  10. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/tigers-acquire-tyler-nevin-designate-zach-logue.html
  11. Hopefully GROD can explode on the scene like this guy! https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/stridsp01.shtml
  12. I think Wells will post a WAR between 2-2.5. With us taking him in the Rule V draft, he had not pitched more than 33 innings in AA. In 2018 between A and AA, he threw 119IP with a 2.49 ERA. Injured in 2019. COVID in 2020. In 2021 we put him in the pen after we took him in the Rule V draft. So last year was his first year starting in three or four years and he still produced a WAR of 1.2. In the first half last year he started 18 games and allowed three or less run in 17 of those starts. The only game that he allowed more than three runs was his first start of the year so he went 17 starts in a row with 0-3 runs given up. He went 7-5 with a 3.38 ERA with a batting avg against off .224 for the first half. I am hoping he continues to build his arm strength up and can give us a good 120-150IP of 3.80 era or less. Having Adley for the whole year, great defense, and hopefully better offense will get him there.
  13. Great idea!! See some Orioles fans would be pessimistic that we aren’t signing another stud like Hosmer but not you. I love the positivity!
  14. Well I have been preparing for Hosmer since the thread started December 22. Seems like a lot of wasted prep time.
  15. For the Orioles to make the playoffs we are going to need a few of the starters to outperform these predictions. Even if we have a great bullpen, we need to probably get to the 15-20 range. How accurate are these projections usually? https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=SP
  16. If someone starts a thread about this stud, you think he will be signed quickly by another team (MLB)?
  17. Will all depend on how well Chris Sale does. How many teams on paper right now are ahead of us in the American League?
  18. Disgusting! We must have sent out some multiple year pro bono contract offers.
  19. Duffy must be still injured or not looking good. The Dodgers had a club option for him at 7 million but didn’t use it.
  20. Don’t forget we signed the Frenchy dude slugger too!
  21. Manoah & Gausman Cole & Rodon McClanahan & Glasnow Law firm of Gibson and Kremer Very depressing! We needed a real good pitcher. That 18 million could have paid most of Bassitt 21 million salary this year. If we just did Bassitt and a backup catcher with playing the young guys, most fans would have been okay with that. I am still holding out hope that we are trading for that real good pitcher.
  22. They already have two big time starting pitchers and have locked up Franco long term. Their track record speaks for itself.
  23. How does our current rotation stack up with the other current AL East rotations? Toronto, Tampa, Yankees, Orioles and Boston tie?
