I'll be honest, I can't get too upset no matter who they take since they have more info than me, but Termarr Johnson has the best stick and statcast numbers and actually has a better arm than Holliday who has stagnated over his last few years.
Drew Jones will be hard to pass up since he has better speed and may get a look in the infield as a pro, but if Johnson saves you some $$$, I think he's a great choice. Plus he's a better fit for Camden Yards.
Interesting. I have been super negstive on Johnson but trust your judgement. Anyone but Berry then!:)

Funny but we are whispers of Jones and Johnson and even Lee as well.
Yep! I’d be okay with one of those 3.

Hoping it is Jones, but if it is Holliday, Johnson, or Lee and they still spend the full pool on overslots I am totally on board with it.
Ideally it would be Jones and they go 4.9% over their pool to still get the best possible overslots they can.
Keep hearing “whispers” in the national media about Holiday to us which would not upset me terribly.

I love him too. I’m not saying I’ll be disappointed if he’s not the pick, but I’ll root like hell for him if he is. Kid is a baseball junkie.
Who do you like? Def not big on Johnson or Berry but really warming up to Holiday at 1. Curious your thoughts.

I don't know this for sure, but I'm fairly certain Elias lost some key guys he wanted to spend that money on when teams took those overslot guys. I think he got beat a bit in hos own game and ended up knowing he need to spend some money, and dumped it on a high EV guy like Willems. The book is not written on Willems but he's off to a pretty bad start.
I think that's the risk you take when you do this. Now, saying this, Cowser is now hitting pretty well in AA including showing some power so that book is not written yet either.
I don't do a lot of predraft analysis of picks so I can't say definitively whether I would have taken Lawler over Cowser, but it's hard not to like where Cowser is trending now that he's been able to go back to his hitting style.
Great post. Thanks. Who do you like this draft Sir?

1 1/2 back of Toronto and Boston for the last wild card spot. Tampa just swept Boston, so the O's will have their hands full.
And to be clear: Tampa swept the Sox in a 4 game series!!! Yikes. Glimmer of hope: prior to that, they were swept by hapless Reds.

Seems to me that whatever they tried to do has more or less worked. I’d be interested to hear what Cowser is saying these days. ISO is way up from last year.
Huh? He literally said he was struggling with the adjustments.

Whatever the Os were trying to do to Cowser to start the season, don’t ever do it again!

I wonder if they’ll try and grab Joe Maddon.
Sounds

Now batting .125, can’t believe r they rushed him to Aberdeen!

Thx for the poll! Would it be possible to do one that asks who would you least likely want to see picked 1?
I voted Jones but def be ok with Holiday! Lee/Parada good picks too.

They have no clue who the O’s are drafting. 3 mocks 3 different picks for the number 1 overall pick. These analysts might as well make the number 1 pick projection for these mocks by pulling a name out of a hat.
And Berry is much worse than Johnson. I just hope it’s not those guys!

He pitched 7 innings and threw 92 pitches today, so I would say the answer to that is a definite NO.
Whew!

Another mock! I don’t like this one. I’d be furious with a Johnson pick!

Is Harvey pitching Sunday?

Sorry that happened, but if it had to happen, I’m glad it occurred in the window where we play them 7 times in 10 days. In fact, our final series of the year with Tampa is August 12-14, so he may miss that too (along with Franco and Lord knows who else).

It's mathematically possible--though unlikely, I know--that the Orioles will have passed the Rays and Red Sox and tied the Jays in W/L at the All-Star Break. It would mean they were sharing second place with Toronto. Just imagine that!
I thought about that but disappointment lol

Mckennas value over Nevin is obvious, he’s very fast and a good defender.
McKenna is just plain fun to watch h in the OF.

He literally cannot be a utility player. He plays 2B and dabbles in CF. We're going to have to trade SOME minor leaguers for some pitching, so I'm just saying he's the type of guy that still has value but that is pretty easily replaced in the system. Let's trade him before he gets ML experience and teams realize he's not really a starting caliber 2B.
Yes…yes, exactly!!!

Thanks for sharing. I am really finding it entertaining how every mock basically says here is who we think is the best player but we have no idea who the Orioles are going to take. It has to be very frustrating for these analysts who make a living trying to forecast the draft.
I have mentioned that a few times:) At the end of the day, we really don’t know, nor do the orgs or players:) but profile is important. I think Jones is the pick and really high on Holiday, if he can stick at SS, I’d might go in that direction. Someone I know said he thinks it will be Lee, I wouldn’t be terribly upset by that either. But the key here is: take who you think is best, hard stop.
