  1. Says you? What are you basing that on? So far the literal only thing you've mentioned is ERA.
  2. Did Hyde tell Hall to stop throwing high? Suddenly a bunch of pitchers lower in the zone. I get that he's missing up top, but they're also not hitting any of those pitches. Suddenly they're getting the bat on the ball with these lower pitches.
  3. That's why he's missing above the zone so frequently. When he can locate at the letters, the raw stuff is very hard to hit.
  4. I'm so triggered by Adley not being allowed to catch DL. Come on, Hyde.
  5. Agreed. Penny wise pound foolish by Hyde. This is DL's first and only start of the season; put him in the best position to succeed. Adley can more than handle it.
  6. Scouts were pretty split on Mateo coming up. MLB Pipeline had him top-50, while Keith Law didn't have him ranked.
  7. Ironically, Vespi and Hall appear to be good friends based on twitter interactions. Two lefty pitchers who came up through the minors together.
  8. Running a guy right after he just manufactured an infield single is a terrible idea. How long was there between Mateo sprinting to first for the single and then sprinting to steal the bag? 90 seconds? It has been shown to take up to 3 minutes to replenish ATP stores after maximum exertion. When every millisecond counts for a stolen base, you need the athlete to be able to run full force.
  9. The solution is to have automatic challenges/reviews on scoring plays. The umps are wrong all of the damn time; they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt.
  10. O's have definitely been working with the Ravens to get that little light show and Omar whistle going.
  11. All praise Odor. *Grumble grumble grumble.*
  12. That's fine from a call-up standpoint. But there are younger guys already on the roster with a potential future on this team who could be auditioned there. Put Vavra at 2B and see if he can stick.
  13. At least that one is intelligible: formerly great player who has been with the same franchise for a long time. Odor is a first-year Oriole journeyman who somehow starts because of his supposed intangibles.
  14. Odor can be the great clubhouse guy he is from the bench.
  15. I don't have BA, but this tweet shows where Jones and Johnson are.
  16. https://twitter.com/KenWeinmanSport/status/1556662113480937472?s=20&t=sm0AQXub2NfFWbBpIUPldQ https://twitter.com/KenWeinmanSport/status/1556662113480937472?s=20&t=sm0AQXub2NfFWbBpIUPldQhttps://twitter.com/KenWeinmanSport/status/1556662113480937472?s=20&t=sm0AQXub2NfFWbBpIUPldQ
  17. Adley must be so frustrating as an opposing pitcher. It's so difficult to sneak anything by him. He protects the zone and will hit into play whatever you give him.
  18. Yeah, it's not dispositive, but also not nothing.
  19. Actually, this is increasingly being seen as a way for athletes to signal change or even discontent. Hollywood Brown scrubbed pictures of the Ravens from his Instagram and mention of the Ravens in his Twitter bio in the time just before the Ravens traded him. When Kyler Murray removed any reference to the Cardinals on his social media, it was seen as a sign that he was threatening to leave if Arizona didn't pony up and pay him.
