  1. ARI is an excellent hitting team against LH starters. And Means has a very small window for success. If his location is just a little off, it's going to be be an uphill battle. It's very hard to succeed in the modern Major Leagues with a 90-92 mph fastball.
  2. Kjerstad. O'Hearn should never play OF for us (except for emergencies).
  3. Kjerstad does not look slow at all. Much better wheels than O'Hearn (another guy his size).
  4. I hope the Orioles decide to move Westburg to the top 5 of the order soon. He's the kind of hitter you want batting amongst your best hitters either to get on base for your best or drive guys in who are on base.
  5. I love to watch Westburg hit. He never gets himself out easily. Always a tough AB. You need guys like that in order to win a championship.
  6. I didn't forget. I was happy to see him in there because Mullins needs a little break right now with the way he is scuffling.
  7. Admit is not the right word for me. But I will acknowledge how good the starting pitching has been and how it has improved from last year.
  8. Uh what prospects do the Braves have to outbid the others for Miller? I must be missing something.. Also, why would the Yankees be willing to give up their top prospects who are positional players for a bullpen guy (even as wonderful as Miller) when their bullpen is already too notch? Isn’t offense their concern?
  9. How many Major League games have Basallo + Mayo + Bradfield Jr. combined appeared in?
  10. The Dodgers don't really have any top tier prospects. Yes Dominguez is around the tier prospect that Mayo is, but he is currently injured. If the Dodgers don't have to surrender any top level prospects and can trade from depth, we should be able to do that as well.
  11. Are those “Forties” percentages? Because if that is the case what does that make Jackson Holliday?
  12. Will it matter how many times the league sees 103 with a great slider? Did it matter how many times that teams saw Felix Bautista?
  13. Of the contending teams, who has a prospect stash (other than the Phillies) that could come anywhere close to beating that?
  14. Yes, agreed. Differing opinions are what make the board lively/interesting IMO. I just happen to share an opinion that does not believe “a reality check” is saying that our contention window will be cut down to two years if we don’t have one of Mayo or Basallo.
  15. It sounds like you are very much against the idea of this kind of trade. I appreciate you expressing your opinion. I just happen to have one that’s a little different. Nothing wrong (in my book) with us disagreeing.
  16. No buzzkill here. Go ahead and feel however you feel. But I don’t fear the Yankees. We are the better team and have many more assets in our Minor League system. The Yankees have some good young pitching but only 2 top 100 prospects (both position players, outfielders). They are a good team, but are in no way in a better position both now or in the immediate future. And we already saw what happened when the 2 teams played.
  17. What??? Where’s all this coming from? I didn’t see anybody advocating for this extreme approach. Nor do I see any way that our title contention would be limited to a “2 year run”. Gunnar is 22, Adley 25, Holliday 20, Grayson 24.
  18. I would have to think hard on that and figure out what my plan would be to obtain (through draft or Dominican/International) a young prospect with that kind of skill set. I don’t know if any of our competitors (except the Phillies if you consider them a competitor) could come anywhere close to matching/exceeding a Mayo + Bradfield offer. I would have to be convinced that someone could beat that offer before agreeing to pull the trigger. It would also depend on who else was out there to be acquired and what those acquisitions would require. But if I absolutely had to, I would begrudgingly do it.
