  1. Looks like I got to the game just in time for Santander to do his thing.
  2. He has a team option next season for 7.5 million.
  3. I do not share your perspective on opponents. And it may be a generational thing? I am in my 40's and do not share the same memories/experiences as you. I look at all opponents and think "they are just the next team that is in our way". The laundry (color of the opposition's uniforms) or the city that they come from is irrelevant to me. This Orioles team is the best that I have ever seen and I believe that we have what it takes to become champions in 2024. And that's pretty much what I focus on.
  4. @sportsfan8703 is correct in that our approach should not be Mason Miller or bust (though Miller would be a great get IMO depending on costs). But is Tanner Scott the best we can do in the non-Miller category/quality? I ask because the approach of a team that is as good as the 2024 Orioles should be - does this player have the capability putting us over the top/being a significant improvement in an area of weakness? Is Tanner Scott any better than Craig Kimbrel? Because Kimbrel is the guy who probably needs to be upgraded in the pen to improve our chances in the postseason. Otherwise what's the point in adding another (potential decent to good) lefty to the pen? Is that something that we really need? How much would Scott really improve the team's chances in its pursuits of competing for the ultimate prize?
  5. If O'Hearn as anything close to this player for the entire season, I don't see how the Orioles don't bring him back next year. He's been that good!
  6. The pressure now turns to Means. With the way Irvin is pitching there is absolutely no way that you can remove him from the rotation right now. He has earned his place for a while. I think this kind of “competition” actually can bring out the best in everyone because guys know they have to bring their best if they want to stay starting. Plus you need depth due to the high likelihood of injuries. Can never have too much starting pitching.
  7. Hard pass. Is the desire for Scott (I’ve also heard some taking about Hunter Harvey) because of the former Oriole thing? If we have to give up any real talent, I hope that we are trading for guys who are real difference makers (first and foremost), not for reasons of sentimentality. Povich is one of our only SP in the Minors who has true Major League capabilities, can’t afford to give that away for the likes of Tanner Scott.
  8. Kjerstad on base 3 times. He is definitely earning more ABs.
  9. Really lame move by Hyde there.
  10. Everyone in the lineup is doing their job and/or at least having competitive professional ABs but 2 guys.
  11. Back to the black hole portion of the lineup…
  12. I have to admit, I didn’t see this in him. He’s looking awesome like he wants to go the distance tonight.
  13. It’s hard for me to conceive that the O’s saw how bad Mullins and Santander have been lately and decided to back them back to back.
  14. Another pop out from Santander. Oh look here comes Mullins.
  15. I don’t see him going another inning now. He’s at 89 pitches already.
  16. Hope this is the last game with Santander and Mullins back to back. Not enough quality approach between the 2 of them right. In essence you are giving an inning away.
  17. Cole Irvin looks like he has no plans of leaving the rotation any time soon.
  18. Needed a better AB there from O’Hearn. Why first pitch swinging?
  19. I think Westburg should be hitting top 3. Than O’Hearn and Mountcastle. Santander 6.
