  1. I like the idea, outside of Bieber’s elbow soreness and drop in velocity.
  2. I’m quoting the article, blockbuster is their idea (Shane Bieber). If a former CY winner is healthy, it would be a blockbuster trade. I have my doubts, this is as an example for early offseason trade ideas generating click bait material with no foundation.
  3. There is a new article from SI about the O’s and Guardians doing a blockbuster trade. Not sure Shane Bieber is a good target with the elbow injury this year, especially trading long term pieces: Will add link https://www.si.com/mlb/orioles/news/baltimore-orioles-linked-blockbuster-trade-with-cleveland-guardians
  4. Santander for Burnes. Looking at the top free agents, Santander may be a hot trade chip this offseason
  5. Dare I say re-sign Flaherty LOL. Without researching, I believe the success relates to platoons, pinch hitting, and several hot streaks during the season (Mateo in April, O’Hearn’s call-up, Hick’s filling in for Mullins injury, Hays hot streak in the first half, Gunnar’s second half, and Mouncastle’s streaks) Cedric somehow beat his RBI record in just 111 games. The potential to overcome the RISP surplus will be difficult, without timely surprises throughout 2024.
  6. For me it is the continuation of organization progress. We have yet to see ME accomplish a successful trade for a known impact player, which I define as an ace, MOO, closer. He mentioned in his last presser that there were attempts to make these kind of moves. I would like to see at least one impact FA signing. It gives better flexibility for trades and building depth with players like O’Hearn and Hicks. An Ace, MOO and a potential closer/setup (X’s 2) will go a long way. I think these are the ingredients needed to raise the bar! And my enjoyment of this past season is watching exciting baseball all year, with playoffs on the horizon through 162.
  7. I like your take Tony! Lots of factors to consider, especially with the layoff comment being a factor. Was surprised at the heat hitting 100. Add a little crafty pitch ability to Grayson’s experience and he is a true ace. First year in the pros. Look at Schilling’s later rise. Grayson has the stuff and tenacity! Hope he bounces back as he has already proved this year!
  8. Believe it was a 2-0 pitch, but I would have preferred to keep the pressure on the pitcher with the patient batter at the plate (in Hicks). Believe Gunnar was in the mindset to avoid the double play and making something happen. O’s need to score some runs early and force the Rangers into the bullpen, which is key to this series! Always love the bounce back and resilience of this team. Let’s go O’s!
  9. Mateo is too fast for this rule! What a BS call, but I did like the reversal last week on Rutchmans tag at home verse the Rays. Guess NY Will continue to have their issues on replay
  10. Will have to check the replay, but Mateo slid through the bag and was already deemed touching it on return. That would be my contest as a manager
  11. Thank you for the input! Not seeing it that way. If that play is an out - it’s the worst out in baseball
  12. WTF happened there. What is the BS technical explanation for that Mateo play. I would contest this as a manager as a protest to the game
  13. Not sure Wells has a full season of being dominant so far in his career. He would be with the team right now based if he was dominant. Would be awesome if he had the gas to finish the year in the playoffs, but that is not happening at this moment. right now we need someone to dominate in the bullpen! Who that is will be figured out or be filled in with control or veteran pitchers for the playoffs. Every team is going through this in some regards. Wish the team did not end the season with 20+ straight games
  14. Great play at the plate with that tag. Did not believe it was going to be overturned for an out, which was a huge impact for the win!
  15. Saw Grayson give Hyder a big hug last night walking in the dugout after 8th inning and the team dumped him with Champagne tonight. Clubhouse guy who is manager of the year!
  16. Mike’s comments tonight made me take a step back. After a beer bong, he mentioned what happened before his time that made today happen. Specifically mentioned Dan Duquette’s era, which brought the Orioles Grayson Rodriguez, DJ Hall, Etc. In the draft, Kremer too! I hope ME and others are extended and promoted. Go Orioles! You deserve this day!!
  17. I was off, the O’s would play the second lowest WC winner as of right now it would be Texas. The twins would get the Jays
  18. Digress, but this is the playoffs for the O’s. Every game counts moving forward. Yes, this is based on the cumulative season success. But every game moving forward has playoff implications.
  19. Disagree. While we are not technically in the playoffs, the division is open to this playoff atmosphere. Do the Orioles play the Twins or get a bye verses the WC winners. This is playoff baseball
  20. This is playoff baseball. Expecting the O’s to bounce back. Did not like the wide strike zone tonight, which will favor the Ray’s more. The Orioles playoffs started today! Go Orioles!!
