I actually don’t think that’s possible. It’s definitely possible they won’t win as many games as last year, but they are a good team. They could easily be at least 7-2 right now, and all three teams they have played have winning records.
Yeah, he covered up for a lot last year. I still think this is a much better team than last year overall, but they way overachieved in close games. They were bound to come back to earth anyway, but losing Felix makes it much worse.
One of the biggest improvements from two years ago to last year was that McCann made them viable during these series-ending day games where Adley doesn’t catch (in which they were horrible in 2022).
Hopefully they can still come back in this one, but also I really hope that it’s an aberration and not a sign if they don’t.
I made a comment about the bye week the other day and got jumped on because the offense was bad at the end of the season, too, which is fair…but G-Rod and Kremer were rolling to end the season and needed to keep in the groove.
Obviously, this sucks, but after the way they finished I expect them to win game 3. Probably not the series, but at least one.
Part of me wonders if playing at home with that crazy crowd is actually worse for them at this point.
I dunno. I kind of wonder if Mullins has never really been healthy the second half of this year. I think he’s more than good enough if we can get him right again.
Maybe Holliday is the long term answer for leading off?
And then you have Holliday play short and Henderson at third.
There has been lots of bad pitching to go around today, but Baker should not have been anywhere near this roster, let alone in this game. I’d rather have Fuji than him.
